After a small update today, every time I open counter-strike Avira warns me about a file (Valve_quicktime.dll). Apparently that file doesn't exist in my folder. I was wondering if this is a false positive. @@

Never heard of it. Scan your pc for a valve_QuickTime.dll and tell us where it's located. That will help a bit

I've never heard of this file though

The virus only showed up today. Its located in. E:\Steam\steamapps\steamname\counter-strike source\bin\valve_quicktime.dll
It doesnt show up in my folder though.

It probably doesn't show up because you have hidden/system files hidden.

On the folder, go to tools > properties, and set Ito show hidden and system files. Then you'll see it.

Once you've done that, I would try deleting the dll and see if it affects the game at all. If it doesn't, then you should be fine

This is likely not a virus, and it probably associated with today's update of CS:S. I have read that false virus identification is happening with some players on another forum.

It sounds like a false positive to me though.

Hopefully deleting it works :P

Deleting doesnt work. IT creates a back up of it when i run counter strike. I tried Virus total.com and its a false positive.

^Correct. I have heard it from 3 different forums. It is just a faulty virus that CS:S is having because of the update today.
