DirectX?

Okay So I finally got The Orange Box, wait an hour or so for install and update, than I start up portal, and I get an error window saying I need DirectX 8 minimum. And I'm like wtf? So I download DirectX 8 and try again and it gives me the same error. Any help?

if you can try to use any software your graphics card comes with and maybe try to set to directx 8

I ran the Diagnostic and it says I have DirectX 9.0c

If that test doesnt help please tell us your video card. I am curious if you have 9c in software or in hardware.
