Dod or any steam programs arent opening

I keep getting this error
"Steam.exe (main Exception): CMultifieldblob (p serialized): Bad field - extends past blob"
i cant open any steam prograsm because of it and its not a very nice presnet from my computer any body got any ideas (i have a vista if it helps)

Try this:

Disconnect form steam
Close steam (with task manager)
Delete the client.BLOB file in your steam direcory.
Restart steam


Its a common problem with steam.

YEs but i dont know how to get to direcoory or what it is although i have a strong idea

um, try c: > program files > steam > client registry.blob.

?

C:\Program Files\Steam

ClientRegistry.blob is on the left hand side, at least mine is.
