Well, my computer decided to crash and when I finally got my computer to restart I got a wonderful Christmas present.....my hard drive had been erased completely. So after downloading DoD again I was happy to start playing again. So I started to launch it and the little box popped saying "Preparing to launch Day of Defeat Source" but then it dissapeared and the launch was canceled. I have tried restarting my comp and but nothing works. Any ideas?

Right Click on Dod and Click Resume Updating...

That Might help, I don't know..

It updates automatically but it still won't launch.

Hmm Weird...

Maybe Uninstall and Re-Install....

Have you done all of your windows updates?

On a different note, computer do not just restart and have erased the entire hard drive. #1, how do you know that entire hard drive was erased and not just the MBR or the lookup table, #2 the only scenario that comes to mind if your computer retarts but then windows appears to be erased is if either somehting corrupted your windows directory or MBR, or if your hard drive had abad sector or physical error - which actually means that it is unreliable and need replacing.


back onto topic - which operating system are you using? This is a common occurance and if you do a search in the forums / help section of steampowered.com I believe they have many suggestions.
