Improving my FPS?

Well, you can maximize your fps by doing these steps:
If your really looking for a competitive edge, you can make your graphics all low, and then have your screen be 800X600 (this is what professionals use, I can't remember why). I also use this and it really does help you because you have a higher fps output and you have a better view of the game with 800X600

Also, go into your task manager and end the processes of whatever you know your not really going to use. Like, apple mobile, ituneshelper etc.

Recently, I just discovered what FPS really is (I'm a newbie with computer specs) and my FPS isn't that great. I tried to improve it by putting a lot of console commands based on the "CS:S Guides + Tips" and I got it up 4 or 5 fps. What are some other ways I can improve my FPS?

(I just copied it off my system properties)
Specs:
Manufacturer: HP
Model: p6310f
Processor: AMD Athlon (tm) II x4 630 Processor 2.80 GHz
Installed Memory (RAM): 6.00 GB (5.75 GB usable)
Graphic Card: NVIDIA GeForce 9100

My FPS rates also vary depending on the map/server.
Jail: 20-30 FPS. Sometimes when there's 44 people it goes to 15 ish.
Highschool: 35-40 FPS
Other: 25-40 FPS

I'm just horrible with computers, so any tips on improving my FPS would help. Thanks :)

First off, Power, when aren't you asking for help? lol.
Secondly whoever said add more ram, is crazy lol. 6 GB is fine. Also your onboard (i'm guessing) graphics card is pretty decent. You have to change your ingame settings.

In comparison, i'll show you my specs:
Processor: AMD Athlon II x2 4400 (don't remember the ghz)
Installed Memory: 1.5GB (less than that usable, don't remember how much)
Intergrated Graphics Card Nvidia Geforce 6150se

I run Model detail high, texture Very High, Shader High, Water Detail set to Reflect World, Shadow Detail Medium (doesn't go any higher for some reason), No Antialiasing, Anisotropic 2x, and Full High Dynamic range.

I get around 40-60 fps in Highschool, 45-80 in dust/dust2 and around a constant 50 in jail maps (pending, disco areas are not kind).

tl:dr Change your settings in game, you shouldn't have a problem with fps, you computer is, statistically better than mine and i have good fps.

I almost forgot, I play at 1400x900, my native res for my monitor.
