ok heres the problem my laptop all of a sudden just froze,so i turned it off and now it wont let me connet. so i hit the power button then the screen comes up like run normally or run safe mode recomnded to fix the problem. then when it gets to the windows starting screen it just freezes. the wierd thing is im posting this on my laptop from my differnt thing like a powerboost it says. im running windows 64 but upgraded to windows 7 when it came out along time ago for free. i have an asus laptop. i have no idea whats wrong . please help

Can you be more specific as to the problem elements like what were you doing when it froze or started to act up? Plus have you ran any anti-virus or spyware programs to exclude that as the problem?

i was just online and then it froze. i did have antivirus but it expired like a couple months ago.when i do the problem fix that comes up when i start the computer it says it cant find anything thats wrong with it

If your antivirus is expired, that means you could very likely have a virus on your system. In safe mode, if you can get it to run on that, Uninstall the expired antivirus and install AVG Free and do a COMPLETE/FULL system scan.

AVG Free is a great, free antivirus program that will actively scan links before you click on them as well as scan files as you open them for viruses. If a file contains a virus or a link contains one, it will warn you and keep you from opening/viewing that file/page.

If you have a virus, feel free to pm me and add me on Steam and I'll see what I can do to help you. AVG Should remove it though unless it's infected a critical system file. Usually, at this point, you should just reinstall. But, there are alternatives to doing a complete reinstall of the Operating System if it's something like a driver for your video or audio devices.

well i cant log on to my os or safe mode because i cannot use the os im on the same laptop but on like a differnt os a powerbosot wich is just used for web. theres 2 start buttons were most people have 1.my model laptop is an ASUS g51vx if that helps. if you know anyting plz help. i can probally take a video from my phone of the entire process if that would help

Well if you cant log into safe mode then your next option is going to be a complete factory restore. I called ASUS when my laptop messed up and figured out how to do it. Start you laptop up with the normal power button and on the screen where it says ASUS keep hitting F9 and select the option that says something along the lines of Factory Restore. After that the laptop will do the rest and all you have to do Is follow the on screen instructions just like you did when you first got it.

tnx xxzz you saved my life ily lol to bad i lost my windows 7 upgrade is there a way i can get that back or is it gone

Lol no problem man, glad my solution helped you out. Kinda cool to see another ASUS laptop user. Does your laptop come with Windows 7? Or did you buy it on CD and install it?

lol figured it out on my own for once lol. i just found the cd after ripping my room apart lol

Ah, I came to late. I actually use a VERY VERY helpful piece of software compilations that is perfect for me. I originally found about it through my PC support teacher. It's called Hirens Boot CD

( http://www.hiren.info/pages/bootcd ) <--- list all of the features it includes and what it can do. Basically its a back-up safe-mode type Operating system with a windows-98 (id say) visual style. It fits on a 700 mb cd and can be used for virtually ANY problem you have that you cant fix from normally booting your pc or booting to safe-made etc. Since it's a CD, it boots from the cd drive and create "Virtual Hard-drives" that are made on your pc's RAM/memory, requiring no hard drive to run at all. Id recommend to Google "Hirens boot cd download" to find the latest version of this awesome cd image and burn it on a cd and stick it in a safe place where you will find it when you need it. :D

Make sure things like CD's or drives are not plugged in or in the computer.

Sorry, you can run it on safe mode right?

Click the startup button > search "System Restore" > click on it and restore to the time before it started freezing. Or after installing/running phishy software/malware.
