I get kicked from all bc2 servers whit punkbuster on for the following reason:

multiple direct3d loaded, it seems there's a problem between nvidia drivers and the security program of bc2 punkbuster.

I found several people complaining about it on the internet but not a solution so far.

This article really made me depressing:
http://forums.nvidia.com/lofiversion/index.php?t178208.html

can anybody help me to solve this problem?

i tried this:

http://nvidia.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/nvidia.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=2646&p_created=1276008572&p_sid=di8jAzbk&p_accessibility=0&p_redirect=&p_srch=1&p_lva=&p_sp=cF9zcmNoPTEmcF9zb3J0X2J5PSZwX2dyaWRzb3J0PSZwX3Jvd19jbnQ9MSwxJnBfcHJvZHM9MCZwX2NhdHM9MCZwX3B2PSZwX2N2PSZwX3NlYXJjaF90eXBlPWFuc3dlcnMuc2VhcmNoX25sJnBfcGFnZT0xJnBfc2VhcmNoX3RleHQ9YmF0dGxlZmllbGQgYmFkIGNvbXBhbnkgMg!!&p_li=&p_topview=1

1) yes i was able to play the game whit another pc , this is a new laptop where i updated all the drivers as i should do and it seems there's a conflict between nvidea drivers and punkbuster.

I found several sites like for exemple this one:
http://forums.nvidia.com/lofiversion/index.php?t178208.html
where several people where complaining about the problem
2) yes i updated my drivers to the latest driver (i even tried a beta)
3) i have no problems in other games, battlefield bad company 2 is the only game i have that uses punkbuster as there security and its the only game causing me to have problems
4) my game gets autopatched running trough steam
5) i tried installing older drivers, new drivers and beta drivers off nvidia.

Best regards

Hello,

Thank you for contacting NVIDIA Customer Care.

This is Kishen, assisting you in troubleshooting the issue that you are experiencing. First, I would like to apologize for your support request being unexpectedly delayed.

From the problem description, I understand that you have issue playing the game Bad Company 2 online, as you get a error message multiple direct 3D enabled.

I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Please be assured that I will do my best to help you.

We do not have any such known issue with NVIDIA graphics card and the punkbuster however, to analyze the issue better and to determine the cause for the problem, I will need additional information:

1. Where you able to play the game previously online without any issue?
2. Did you try updating or reinstalling the current drivers for the graphic card?
3. Did you try playing any other games to check if the issue is particular to this game or with all the games?
4. Did you try updating the latest patches for the game as that can also be a reason for this issue?
5 Did you try installing any alternate drivers for the graphic card?

I will look forward to your reply to assist you better.

Best regards,
Kishen,
NVIDIA Customer Care

When i try to play the game battlefield bad company 2 online , punkbuster (the security of the game) kicks me out of the game saying "multiple direct3d loaded" after some googling i found out its a problem between nvidia and punkbuster, and i wonder how to solve it.

Well, what are the answers to his questions?

Were you able to play before?
Have you tried updating drivers?

Also, I have very little experience with punkbuster but both your game and punkbuster's game set (I forget what they call it. PBsetup has to know which games you have installed) have to be up to date.

the answers are above the questions, i copy pasted my ticket in that order ;)

/facepalm

Anyways, in the link you posted one guy said he fixed it by rolling back to 189.xx for drivers. Did you try going back that far?

Also, you might try manually checking for game updates just in case. Just because it's supposed to auto-patch doesn't mean it always will.

Check and see if PBsetup is up to date for BC2.

Basically what I gathered from your link is this is a driver error and you need to try out even more of those. If you can check and see if you can custom install with direct3d not allowing multiple.

I have a Geforce 330m graphics card, and the oldest driver that is supported for the graphics card is more recent then the 180.xx driver, so i tried installing the oldest driver available for my graphics card (wich didn't work) and a beta doesn't work either

Hello,

Thank you for all the information.

The issue you are experiencing is not a general behavior of the graphics card or the graphics driver. However, such issues could also occur if the display driver is not registered properly in Windows. But there are a few options available to upgrade NVIDIA drivers for notebook computers

The drivers for a graphic card installed on a Laptop are modified by, the manufacturer to suit different Laptop models based on the features supported by that specific Laptop model

a) Primary Source = Notebook Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM)

The primary source for graphics drivers is from your notebook OEM. These drivers have been fully qualified by the OEM to work with their specific notebook customizations. NVIDIA does not control the schedule for updates to these OEM drivers

b) Optional Source = Direct from NVIDIA

If you have an 8-series or higher GPU, NVIDIA offers reference notebook driver updates on NVIDIA.com for most GeForce M series and Quadro NVS series notebook GPUs

Please note that drivers direct from NVIDIA are provided as is and do not carry any guarantees, warranties, or support. NVIDIA recommends that you check with your notebook OEM about recommended software updates for your notebook. OEMs may not provide technical support for issues that arise from the use of drivers on NVIDIA.com

c) Third Party sources

If you have an older GPU or a system not supported by the NVIDIA BETA notebook driver, and are willing to risk a third party solution, you may try www.laptopvideo2go.com. This website hosts desktop graphics drivers which have been modified to install on a notebook. Please keep in mind that these modified drivers do not contain any customizations for your system, and will not be supported by the maker of your laptop or by NVIDIA

For your convenience, I am providing you the driver links from www.laptopvideo2go.com that supports GeForce 325m GPU:

For Win 7 64 bit: http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/drivers/win7x64/260.44/disclaimer

1. On the following page, click on "Click here to download the requested driver." to download and save the driver file on to your Desktop.
2. Also, click on "Click here to download the modified INF file." to download and save the Modded INF file on to your Desktop.
3. Once both the required files are downloaded, Please create a folder on the desktop.
4. Run the driver file by double-clicking on the file.

You will first be prompted by a license agreement. Once you have read the license agreement, you may proceed to the next step if you choose so. The Install shield will then prompt you for a location where the install files should be extracted to. Please Click on the Change button then select the folder, which you have created on the desktop then click on OK.

Now proceed by clicking on the "Next" button. The files will be extracted to the location given by you.

Next, go to the folder where the files were extracted to. You will find several files in this folder.

5. Now please copy the modded INF file that you have saved on to the Desktop and paste it to the new folder where you have extracted the driver files. If you will get any "file replace message" then click on yes to replace the original driver INF file.

6. Lastly, you will find Setup File in this Folder. Just double click the Setup file and install the drivers.

Please let us know if the above steps have helped us to fix the issue

Warm Regards,
Kishen
