Uninstalling Left 4 Dead 2

Whenever "The Sacrifice" came out earlier last week my l4d2 kept on saying this game is unavailable at the moment so after doing everything i could to fix it i tried to uninstall the game through steam. After about 20 min the uninstalling message disappeared and its been stuck on Download paused for about a week now. Any ideas on what i should do?

1) Turn off STEAM.
2) Navigate to the 'steamapps' directory and log under your account name. (*/Program Files/Steam/steamapps/youraccountnamehere or */Program Filesx86/Steam/steamapps/youraccountnamehere)
3) Delete any Left4Dead 2 content you may see.

Exit Steam,
Go into your steam folder,
C:\Program Files(x86)\Steam\steamapps\common
And delete the Left 4 Dead 2 folder.
Start Steam back up, then install L4D2.

Also, delete any left 4 dead 2.gcfs in the C:/Program Files/Steam/steamapps folder

Thank you all. Got it to completely delete and is reinstalling now. When i tired to delete the folder before i made this post nothing happened. I forgot to delete what chem!st said to delete.
