Purple is the symbolic color for domestic violence awareness and the cornerstone of the state’s “Shine the Light on Domestic Violence” public awareness effort, which was spearheaded by the New York State Office for the Prevention of Domestic Violence.

Teenager Brittany McMillan came up with the idea to honor the LGBT youth who've recently died after being bullied.

You know, I would, but I do not own one purple article of clothing. Not even a T-shirt for the Minnesota vikings, whom I adore.

Really coincidental you post this, I was randomly browsing some state website last night and I saw this.. Considering I live in New York. lol

my school has a dress code so i'm wearing purple sox today, lets see how many people make fun of me for it

I would've worn purple, but I has no purple clothes. Esp. since I'm still haunted by the Teletubbies. ._.

Nice post though mate!
