moniter help

I recently gott a 19 inch wide screen moniter and it worked fine until I got my new pc with an 8800 ultra w/ sli and vista the problrm is therre is a verry thin green line that runs down the moniter does anyone have any sugjestions?

um, get the absolute newest drivers from nvidia.com
Wiggle the wires on the monitor and connection to videocard they made be loose or pluged in tilted - not quite in all the way.
If it is a CRT degausse the monitor using the inmonitor menu system.

Does it still do this with your old computer? Does your new computer do this with a different monitor?

Hmm....I know a lot of stuff aren't compatible with Vista. So i suggest you either upgrade your video card and try to plug the cables tightly, not too tight. Another thing you can do is change the resolution of the monitor.

Yes. He should definately upgrade his video card because a newer one will be compatible with vista. How could I have missed that?

If only you were awsome enough to not vista bash about incompatibility for no reason at all, then you would have remembered that he said he had an 8800ultra - not only is there no newer card on the market from nvidia for him but it is a directx 10 card which incase you forgot was a vista only feature. The card was specifically designed to be used with vista.

ahey guys sorry to say but it is still there but it only shows in certail colors and it goes away when i press on the top of the moniter ( it also has the vista certified sticker on it.)

Yikes that may not be a good sign. It sounds like your monitor could have a bad spot or you got a bad one.

if it goes away when you physically press on the screene you need to return it quick liek a bunny while it is still under warranty. You clearly have a bad monitor, it sounds like one of the rows of your active matrix chips died or maybe even the lcd cracked? That is less liekly because then they usually leak all over the rest of the screen but you still need to return it.

I have neevr seen a software based error driver problem or setting issue that has any affect on the screene when pushed. Only physical defects.

I would have returned it. It could reappear at any time and its pretty much guaranteed to happen the day the warranty expires.

is it just me, or usually when the warranty expires bad things re-occur after they go away for some time seeming like all is well
