mod crash

hey guys I recently downloaded a mod for battle field 1942 and whenever I load a map the game crashes why???!!!!?!?!!/

it could also be the mod if its in a alpha, beta or just a bug thats causing it

no it is a final mod called Forgotten hope it worked on my old xp computer and now on my vista computer it crashes in the middle of loading the funny thing is that I downloaded forgotten hope 2 for battlefield 2 and it works for the first level but crashes on the loading of the second.

Well as Green said, not enough information, and I am one who struggles to understand things
But here are possible issues.

As Rogue Sniper said, it may not be compatible with Vista.

Knowing games like 1942, you probably forgot to patch / over patched. Some mods only work on early patches, others only on late patches.

Is the download site official? IE it was hosted / suggested by the maker?

It could be anything, but a little more info would really help.

I have BF1942, I don't think that mod work on Vista. I know that Road to Rome and Secret Weapons of WW2 works on Vista but not that mod.
