Hello Troops,
My wife is going to college to be A licensed practical nurses (LPN). Well one of her instructor found out that I was retired military, which I think my wife lose lips :lol::lol:
So the instructor ask my wife to ask me for exact credit for her could I write a Argumentation Essay for my wife, weird :mellow: :thumbup:
So I wrote the Argumentation Essay for her which I like to share with you all.
But Please my intent is not to start a fight and argument or open a insulting contest to anyone. This is only my opinion and mine alone. My intent is not offend anyone and any other countries. Please if I offend anyone I sorry this wasn't my intent.
GloboCop: The World Policeman
I asked myself ? Do you think America should be the Policeman for the world?? To answer the question you have to ask yourself does the world needs a constable? America, over the centuries, has been stepping up to the plate to help other countries from genocide, biological weapons, and weapons of mass destruction.
In late 1928, the Kellogg- Briand Pact was formed, which outlawed war as an instrument of national policy. But, without enforcement mechanisms, it is meaningless. Back in the late 1900s, United States only limited its forces to the Caribbean. Now, America exercises as much power everywhere around the world. President Theodore Roosevelt wrote: ?The Western Hemisphere was the only place where the U.S. exercised military hegemony. In the rest of the world, America could count on the Royal Navy to defend civilized society.?
When I was growing up and going to school, all schools had bullies. Bullies went around bullying the smaller kids and leaving the bigger kids alone. This analogy is similar to countries. It?s your duty to fight the bullies and protect the weak. Eventually, the bullies will be coming after you. Like David Stolinsky, M.D. who writes on political and social issues said: ?We didn?t grab the badge of the world policeman. We found it in the gutter, where it had been discarded and we picked it up and no one would claim it. So we pinned it on to our shirt, if not us, who?
I think the United States realized that we are not isolated from the rest of the world?s problems, after September 11. I believed it was a wake-up call for Americans. Since the U.S. was the only super power nation around the globe after the cold war ended, everyone is looking at us for help and support. When we invaded Iraq, without support from the United Nations, I asked myself the same question Joe Steinberger wrote in The Free Press, February 23, 2003: ? Are we really so afraid of Saddam Hussein right now ?
After September 11, many Americans asked, ?Why us?? Many Americans were mystified and the public tried to fathom the source of the hatred that could motivate such attacks. And ever-helpful government eagerly provided answers: ?They hate us because we?re free.? At the time, all Americans were angry because it gave our government a chance to execute their plan to position military bases all around the globe so they could invade any country in less than 12 hours. Jim Lobe wrote in the Inter Press Service on June 11, 2003, ?Washington could pre-position equipment at least some military personnel that would permit it to intervene with overwhelming force within hours of the outbreak of any crisis. The Pentagon is moving swiftly to become ?GloboCop.?
We, as Americans, trust our government to make the right decision for our country. Many countries are watching the United States now. They are watching every move we make and every decision on world issues. With the war with Iraq, all nations around the world saw how long it took us to wipe out the Iraqi armies. Nations around the world had seen how fast we toppled the Taliban in Afghanistan. In James Militzer?s ?World Peace,? he said, ?Change would come only if Americans demand, in one voice, that our government live up to the ideals of peace and freedom that we, the people, cherish.?
America is the only free nation around the world. People can move to this country and live the life of freedom. I have traveled throughout many countries during my military service. Many Americans who have not seen the world don?t realize how much freedom and luxuries we have in this country. During my travels, I have seen that most countries throughout the world do not have the luxuries to travel around the country freely because of fear of dying. The people in Middle East countries fear to go outside their own doors because of this fear. Many nations around the world have martial law. The government controls everything. People have no freedom or rights to express themselves like we have.
I am proud and thankful I was born in this great country. After traveling around the world and witnessing first hand how most countries live, I have come to understand that we are a great nation with great power. With all this power in this great country, we have to be the ?Big Brother? for these countries, which cannot defend themselves. But, also we have to remember with all this power comes great responsibility. Knowledge without wisdom will destroy a nation. If no one else will take on the task as GloboCop, I feel it is our duty and responsibility to assume the role.
