I purchased Bad Company 2 off of Steam a few days ago. A couple of days ago, I started it for the first time, and it asked me to make an EA account and a soldier id so i could play multiplayer. I accepted the terms of service and, when it asked for the serial code, I gave it the CD Key that was provided. Fast forward to an hour or so ago, where, when I logged in (for the second ever time, I've been busy.) to play multiplayer. It asked me to accept the terms of service again and input the CD Key again, and when I did that, I got the message "The register code is already in use." It won't let me play. It just makes me go through the same process every time I try to log in

Just a quick idea, did you verify your EA account with the e-mail they sent to your e-mail address?

I had that problem with another game I play and it was because I didnt verify my account, like what tipton is saying.

If you are still having problems, contact EA chat at http://support.ea.com/app/chat/chat_landing

They will ask you if you've reinstalled the game, forwarded the BC2 ports, and tried disabling your firewall/antivirus. After this, if nothing works, they ask for your 20-digit key and the email associated with your account. They will issue you a new 20-digit key. Follow up with us here when you get something figured out.

I remember back when I purchase BC 2 once I verify through email I was good to go with the game :)

Since everyone other military member of this clan has already chimed in; I will too.

"Yeah, what they said."

Can't remember for sure, but are you clicking to create a new vs use an existing account? Had that issue in games previously, but yeah probably what's already been mentioned.
