TF2 Retreving Server Info really slow

Hello im new to this forum and i was wondering if my retrieving server info could be sped up. It takes about 5 minutes which is horrible to just get into a match.
SPECS
Compaq laptop
2.2 ghz amd dual core proccessor
ati radeon 4250 mobile graphics
2 gig ram
and i think 250 gigs of hard drive memory

my internet connection is quite fast and i know it isn't the problem because on my other computer whichi is a desktop retreives the server info of TF2 in about 30 seconds. I tried using the laptop and computer sharing the same internet and the ping on the laptop turns out higher than the desktop. I use the laptop by itself using the internet by ifself with nothing else sharing the internet and still loads slow. the laptop used to load tf2 slower but i unistall several things i didnt need and removed several things that appeared at startup that i didn't need and my tf2 loaded way faster about a 30 percent increase in performance. but now the retreivng server info is bugging me. any help thanks.

You have integrated graphics, slower load time.
You only have a 2 gig processor, slower load time.
You only have 2 gigs of RAM, slower load time.

Retrieving server info is not dependent on your Internet that much, or as much as you think.

Upgrade your laptop, you'll get into matches quicker.
It takes about 7-9 minutes to load up a TF2 match on my laptop.

okay i got it i figured out ever one thanks for your advice i started going to browse servers on tf2 and when to the one's that had higher latency's i dont know what that means but i think it means better speed in internet? and it turns out my retreiving server info and sending client info was a breeze i was in that match like in 30 seconds. so i think it is dependant on the server. this may help other people out who have computers whose computers pass the minumum requirmenets and still have a hard time connecting to servers. going to servers with high latency equaled a better connection i guess worked for me. . YEAH.
