Ok guys so right now im rocking a rediculusly crappy dell the manages to lag on minecraft. So I am looking to build a new one but, I know im not truly experienced so I am asking for some guidance. I would like to build a new rig for somewhere between 500-650 and before you call me crazy I know it can be done but does anyone have tips or suggestions????:confused1:

Any tips or suggestions on what? The actual building? Yeah, check the build guide link in my signature.

If you need help with what parts to get, I need to know a few more things. What all is need? That means everything, down to speakers, mouse, keyboard, operating system, everything. That significantly changes what your potential computers can be.

Hello, This is his brother. I have built computers before but were just trying to get more help so thank you guys for helping us. :)

This should help a little but my list is out of the budget i just have to bring down the price.

1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
Gaming, School work
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
550(Not including tax or shipping)
3) Where do you live?
Greenwood IN
4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. The word "Everything" is not a valid answer. Please list out all the parts you'll need.
CPU, MOBO, GPU, RAM, PSU, CASE, HDD, everything for a tower case.
5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.
None
6) Will you be overclocking?
Maybe
7) What size monitor do you have and/or plan to have?
19" something
8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
soon few months
9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? USB 3.0? SATA 6Gb/s? eSATA? Onboard video? etc.
SLI/Cross fire support
10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If yes, what OS? Is it 32bit or 64bit?
No need windows 7 home 64bit

But one of my friends is selling...
Intel Q6600 2.4 GHz CPU
EVGA nForce 780i SLI FTW
EVGA GeForce GTX 260 Core 216 Superclocked - 55nm
Corsair Dominator 8GB (4 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Memory
Coolmax CUG-950B 950W ATX12V V.2.2 SLI Certified Modular Power Supply

All that for $385
Do you think he should jump on that? or build a diffrent computer with newer parts?

Since you are going to be buying a few months, just wait until new stuff comes out. Bulldozer is supposed to be coming out in August, and it'd be worth waiting for it to come out.

Also, your friend has that computer listed for a bit much, in my opinion. Maybe $300 at the max, if it came with a fully legit copy of Windows 7.

yes it would make sence to wait a bit longer. bulldozer most likely come out in late Augast early September. plus newegg will probably have a huge sale for bulldozer. never know.
