BF3 & Windows 7

Currently I play all my games on my macbook pro. I have partitioned between MAC and WINDOWS XP... Now that BF3 is ONLY on windows 7 i need to upgrade to Windows 7 i guess...is there a particular windows 7 verison that is best and where can I find one for the best price?

I honestly suggest getting W7 home premium. Ultimate and Professional has too much crap that you don't need. Not to mention it's a lot more expensive

Agreed. Home premium is usually the best one for regular users without all the the programs and crap that you might deem "useless".

ultimate 64bit has the most features but home premium 64bit is fine, get the OEM kit from newegg, should be a lot cheaper than the full thing. I personally use enterprise 64bit, its the same thing as ultimate cept i get it free from my college. enterprise is just ultimate for colleges and businesses

I run x64 Ultimate on all my computers, but since I run a lot of remote access, actually use bitlocker, and have a hook up with the MS employee store I'd be stupid to buy anything less.

If you're using OSX for most of what you're doing you'd be a fool to pay for anything more than the basic 7 package. You can get OEM for around $100 off newegg.

Windows 7 Home Premium FTW. It works great, and you dont have to pay for a bunch of stuff you most likely wont use *cough* ultimate *cough*. Just make sure you get the right version (32 or 64 bit). 64 bit is faster and allows more than 4gb of RAM (at least from my understanding)

64bit is the way to go nowadays.
Allows you to use more than 3.25gb (compared to the 32bit)

Enterprise and home premium are the two most compact versions of win 7..... don't need all the extra stuff if you don't know how to use it/need it

Good stuff.. I literally dont need/want ANYTHING other than the basic operating system to play games... All my programs and everything i use is on the MAC side. The windows side is purely for video games only. It has video games and firefox and that is it.

So basically Home Premium is the cheapest and best bet for my needs?
