So what the hell happened?!

Did the bomb in Time Square go off?
Why did the Russians attack the Americans at Karrakov's compound? (< I think this is a plot hole)

I think blackburn stopped the bomb at the end... but maybe not.

I felt the gameplay of the single player was good (if not a bit similar to another *cough* competing franchise) but the story itself... I dunno.

I dont quite know why the russians would attack the americans, unless they were led to believe that somehow the stolen nukes were related to the americans... ??

Also, I had a lot of trouble believing that blackburn would suddenly turn on (and kill) his CO from a 30 second conversation with a russian dude he had never met before... even if the CO was kind of a jerk.

Sorry no spoiler from me, just play it (if u have it) and you'll have fun

The Russian's were attacking Karrakov's compound because Karrakov stole a nuke from them and they were likely to get blamed for it. The Americans just managed to stumble through all of the Russian forces and many gunshots we had. Also the bomb didn't go off because Blackburn handcuffed that guy to himself and he beat him up in front of like 50 people who thought it was a clever street show.

The Russians wanted to prevent the whole thing because they would be blamed for it because it was their nukes. The Russians didn't attack Americans at the villa, Blackburn shot his CO so that he wouldn't stop their two-man plan. I think Blackburn prevented detonation at the end because the nuke required manual detonation (if you fail that section Kaffarov stumbles over and manual detonates the nuke).

"A Rock and A Hard Place" you are fired upon by Russian forces. Why is that?

That doesn't explain why in Multiplayer we're fighting the Russians.

You're fighting Kaffarov's men, he is an arms dealer supposedly working with Solomon. And I guess they just needed some bad guys for multiplayer haha.

No, at the first part of the mission when you investigate the body they say "Oh s**t, its a Russian platoon! REAL RUSSIANS! I think we're a bit outmatched here."

Then you see a Russian airdrop

You're right. The Americans were all confused why they shot first and I don't think that was ever explained.

I do agree that the Russian engagement was perplexed in some way, like: why didn't the Russians just contact America or the United Nations about the stolen Nukes? Maybe the main reason was because they didn't want to start a commotion globally and also deem the Russian government and military being sloppy by allowing a single person to steal THREE nukes--it would have looked extremely bad. When deaths were caused by your countries nukes: a lot of blame and agitation would be manifested.

As far as why we fight them in multiplayer: it's multiplayer. As far as I'm concerned, the story line does not affect how I engage with other players: I just want to shoot and have a good time.

Bingo on that one. Multiplayer I couldn't care less about who is fighting who, only that theres two teams fighting each other.

And as I said earlier, I agree, its odd that the Russians just immediately start shooting... unless they thought you were Kaffarov's men... But then again, how do they even play into the whole story line with the PLR... Again, I thought the story was sloppy.

Also, as I mentioned, I think the absolute biggest plot hole was blackburn suddenly siding with Dima and shooting his CO after only a 30 second conversation with him.

If I had to rate the single player, I would give it a 6/10, gameplay was fun, the story was kind of weak... but I dont care, multiplayer is a 10/10 for me.

When we had to shoot Cole, I was like "WTF--why would I have to shoot him?". But apparently if you don't, he shoots back for some odd reason--possibly because Cole thinks "we", or Blackburn, were befriending with the Russians by affiliating with Dima. I just think conversation would have benefited both parties, but Dima thinks that politics would have intervened and hindered it.

The thing is, I was even more confused at the end. When you're fighting the guy near the police car, the person I was fighting was totally invisible. I was hearing the "oofs" and stuff while I was punching and kneeing the air. :P

My guesses as to why Blackburn sides with Dima:

-Cole was known for wanting to prove he was useful and get a promotion. He would've captured anything that spoke Russian to prove a point.

-He obviously lacked any real sense of strategy as it's portrayed in the sniper mission when he says to meet at "the mall" over their comm. Also, he leads his vastly outnumbered group of men against a small army of Russians, instead of contacting his CO.

-If Dima was up to no good, he could have just killed Blackburn easily with a head shot from behind or a quick knife kill.

-Blackburn also clearly wanted to kill Cole since his orders cost two of his friend's their lives. This presented the perfect opportunity since he was going to make yet another mistake.

As to why the Russians fired on them in the first place...because they're bears on unicycles?
