2 pc's 1 router = lag for 1?

Hey again lol

Me and my brother both have BF3. When we both play the multiplayer on the same time, 90 % of the times 1 of us gets lag and connection interupted. Is this because we are behind a router (1 IP for 2 clients)? If so, is there a way to fix it? It's really annoying that everytime i wanna play i time out cause my brother is playing.

Is it an actual router or a switch?

PC1 => switch1 => router
PC2 => switch2 => router

Just tried to disable uPnP but it didn't work ;(

Wouldn't it be best to keep upnp enabled ?, also if your router supports i am not sure over wireless but wired you could try QoS and limit bandwidth to both computers as in dividing it up i guess you could say. Not sure if thats the issue but it sounds like one computer is using all the bandwidth possibly causing you to lag out, i know they also make some programs that you can install that limit the bandwidth the pc can use also.

my ISP let me use 4 pc's at the same time without experiencing lag. Never had troubles because of it so i don't think thats the problem. really need some help i need to pwn him

what do you mean 4 pcs all gaming at once or just browsing because i have 4 pcs on my network and when only browsing they all run fine as soon as the xbox or netflix or anything gaming wise it lags a bit.

I think that just means they will allow 4 simultaneous connections.

They are both using wireless, yes?

It would involve moving the computers for testing, but try hooking them both up via cat5 and see what happens.

Also, is it ALWAYS the same computer that gets the lag?

Is there a correlation between which one connects first and which one lags?

no wireless all are wired with cat5e cables

no, if i join my brother he gets lag (and kicked off), if he joins me i get lag (and kicked off)

if you mean this: i join my brother he gets lag and times out. If he joins me, i get lag and time out

what's the make/model of the router?

Belkin N Plus Wireless router F5D8235-4 v1 (if that's correct that's from the properties window from the OS thingy )

The router itself should have a name/model number on it.

your both plugged into the same physical router, yes?

(a switch would be much better than a router btw)
