Ventrilo and Bf3

Hey Guys. If this isn't the right place to post this please move it to the correct place.

I have a suggestion...and I respect the leadership, so there might be info I don't know, so feel free to shoot me down like a MH-6 falling from Damavand Peak.

I'm usually on Vent when I play BF3. I just stick myself in whatever channel the most people are in. But it is confusing and hard to actually use teamwork skills when you have people from 3 servers in one channel. I know sometimes people like to socialize while playing BF3 even with people who are in different servers, (myself included). I just thought it would be cool if we had channels that people could use that were labeled for each server. So a channel for conquest, HC conquest, rush etc.. This way you get into server move channels and you can work together. Thoughts?

I personally think this is a great idea i know some guys from the 7th cavalry and the 75th rangers who support bf3 and they have this set up to that they dont get confused on who is in what server and trying to relay information to another member.

I agree with you guys but this thread has been shot down a couple of times before. People end up ignoring the channels and just playing with their friends anyway.

We've tried this set up before when BC2 was released and it didn't work. People want to game/talk to their buddys, whether they're on the same server or not. For future suggestions, please use the dropbox.

To expand, having specific channels can help direct newer people into a channel with the same people they are playing in, but it also imposes limitations. If we only have one or two channels for a particular server, what happens if there are 15 eGO members on it and they want to break out into squads and chat? As well, we often have members of our division hanging out in a channel just to chat, or even to play other games (but like to be in our channels as this is their division). If you are ingame, just look for a few members and then find them in a channel. Normally people in one server will group together.

It's been tried in several of the divisions and OP:X is the only one that has had success with their channels set up by server.

Also, welcome to eGO! For future reference, any suggestions you may have can be submitted through the dropbox, a private forum where only leadership can see it! We're always interested in feedback, so by all means...keep the suggestions coming.

At least there's a few more channels than there was to begin with, so that helps a bit.

Great posts guys. I didn't realize it had been tried and obviously my forum search skills suck. I can see every point of view. Like Tiomat said, at least there are several channels, so if a dedicated squad or team wants to chat it up to gain the edge they can move to another channel. Future suggestions from me will head straight for the dropbox. Cya in game!

Suggestion: If the Battlefield vent channels are full, there are still more channels (General Channel 1-9) to use. Friends will find you in whatever vent channel you're in, regardless of what it's marked under.
