Teamwork in BF3

This is probably just my vision clouded by a moment of nerdrage lol, but has anyone else noticed the extremely severe lack of teamwork by other players.

For instance, Support classes apparently don't know what their ammo box is for unless they need ammo themselves can't say how many times I've requested ammo one time being surrounded by 4(Rly? 4 couldn't help their teammate!!!) support players.

Assault 9/10 forgets their also Medics and wont revive or do revive but not after taking care of the guy who clearly already has a sight on you.

Will leave Recon alone as can;t really tell when they're not actively helping the team or not just when there is an absurd amount of them camping as far from our objectives as possible doing nothing but getting maybe one kill every 5 minutes. Engineers same there not much I can say about them.

The tank drivers almost always are too afraid to get their hands dirty cause they want to not only protect their precious K?D but also the tank so it ends up being us down a tank cause its off being afraid back at our base somewhere. No one waits for people to get in the jeeps 95 % of the time.

It's pretty much starting to feel like CoD with vehicles to me. Which sucks cause I love this game and CoD has gotten stale to me. (Note: Not bashing CoD I just don't like it as much as I used to.)

/End Rant

Now that I have gotten that off my chest I feel a little better now.

Log on ventrillo and squad up with us. Believe me, you will rage a lot less.

Smexy: A thousand times Agree. I feel it should be like a requirement to watch that video to unlock multiplayer for some of these people.

Vertago: Sounds like a fine idea and I may just take you up on that offer and join vent next time I get on. Not quite sure why haven't done it yet honestly.

Its why i joined Edge Gamers to begin with, if you think its bad on American servers, try German or Dutch ones... lone wolf country i tell you

Don't be shy =P

Teamwork isn't going to happen with pubs, I have had to grind out all the co-op guns in the public match making very few people are useful at all. The best way to get teamwork is to be on vent and be a team player we listen when you need ammo.

I agree with some of your post. The biggest problem I have seen is guys not throwing ammo, there are probably 10 to 1 med packs to ammo packs. I know there are a lot more assault class, but still, they dont seem to drop ammo much, you can make bank on a map like metro with bottlenecks and tons of spamming.

I'd also have to tell everyone that is playing to be in vent (when possible) it is a lot easier to work together etc.. Call out needs/targets etc.

The problem with BF3, that was the same in BC2, and was NOT the problem in BF2, is the matter of reminders. In BC2/BF3, when you shout for ammo/health, its ambient sound. When you are in battle, you won't hear it/won't be listening for it, so therefore you will not be reminded that you need to do your job.

The beauty of BF2 was that everything was in the (TRANSPARENT BACKGROUND!!) chat box. When you used the commo-rose to say you needed ammo, it would be both heard as ambient sound AND be seen in text on the side of the screen. Also, when you were killed (incapacitated) you would lay on the ground, and had 2 chances to call for help. With a mouse click, as you were incapacitated, you would shout "Medic!", and then you could click it one more time (idk why the number cap, probably to reduce spam). This distinctively reminded medics that they needed to revive someone.

I really wish DICE had looked back at the finer details of BF2 that made it so great. Don't get me wrong, I love BF3, but I wish it was just a bit more influenced by BF2

Very true! I usually play Assault. So I just had to get in the habit of throwing down med packs

I call those people "randumbs".

I wish there would be more medics that actually revived or healed me - because I know for sure I'm doing my job.

From reading it's the lack of visual reminders along with out load calls. Jeeps you use to be able to yell for a ride. Cant do that anymore. A lack of in game voice also adds to lack of team play IMO. So yes get on vent that should help.... Plus the game is still "new" in time you ill see more and more people pushing as teams... not all but more.

Honestly I wish Dice had made this game as mod friendly as BF2. We would have already had everything they decided to take out for no discernible reason back. Proper Comma-rose, those comma-rose choices showing up in chat, chat box able to be read and not take up 50% screen real estate. hopefully that might change in the future but I doubt it.

I have been getting in Vent though since posting this. Don't always talk much or I do say something and because I'm a fool I won't press my talk button but I digress. I did it find it less ragetastic just being in Vent though so all is well... for now.

well DICE did mix up two different game

BF2 & 2142 and bad company series

remember bf2 and 2142 was in Refractor 2 engine so dont compare games as much

Yes, it is very hard to tell when someone is requesting someing especially when in a fight. I just drop stuff whenever I need it or I run into someone that I think might need it or in a pack of dudes. Especially Engies. They don't savor their rockets.

Somehow I doubt the engine would prevent them from having a proper comm-rose and chat interface.... Therefore it is perfectly reasonable to compare games especially within the same series by the same developers. Not like I said "but but MW3's interface is good why couldn't they do it."(I don't know if that's true or not just an example) In that instance yes one should not compare games as they are two different companies and two different series.

Doesnt matter what game it is, there is always a ridiculous ammount of noobs. That number is always multiplied 10 times over for any new game. I played battlefield 2 for 5 years. Earned myself 2 different 3 star accounts, that whole time there was never a shortage of noobs around

I'm lvl 34 with squad score of 94 220

I've seen lvl 50's with less squad score. There is very little teamwork going on. Oh and I play on pub with randoms 99% of the time.

I really hate how "squad leaders" never give orders. Makes me create my own squad.
