A usual day as a Sith

So...you run around as a Sith, only to find out some people are grouping up. Not knowing what it's for exactly you still join, and notice it's a raid group. They tell you to just meet up with person X, and once you arrive there, you get to see why they need a raid group:

PS: This is not my vid, but I did take this guy down today with a raid group. This is a World Boss, he's lvl 18 with 250k HP. And to give you a understanding what 250K HP means in this game, our lvl 46 tank had around 8,5 - 9k HP.

Oh god, the noise is a combination of intoxicating and unbearable, so many lightsabers gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh

On another note, I saw a video where a level 50 merc was doing ~1000 damage per attack in a raid, is damage ~46 that much lower? Or did he have like crazy armor? seems like it is taking forever to kill this guy. cause even if the average damage at ~46 was say 500 damage, that would mean it would take around 500 attacks combined to kill him. Thats 45 attacks per person, assuming 11 damage dealers (1 tank 3 healers), in the video it took 5 minutes to kill him, that measures out to one attack ever 6.67 seconds, which is definitely not right. If you could shed some light on the mathematical dilemma, i'd appreciate it. If I am remembering it wrong, and a value of 250 damage per attack is more appropriate than you are looking at an average of 3.33 seconds per attack, still long except for perhaps big spells or w/e. So i am still confused at the low end as well.

I've been invited to the Beta for the upcoming weekend supposedly, so i have yet to play the game, forgive me if i made some horrible assumption somewhere, i am only going on what i've seen in what few videos i have watched.

your BH probably had crazy armor. And dont forget that in this raid, there were a ton of ppl around lvl 11 - 20, like I said, in my group there was only 1 person of lvl 46, who also was the highest in our team.

After playing the beta for a while and then watching this video... I might cancel my pre-order... It's just starting to feel too much like WoW... Right down to the epic items being the same color... The combat is so original it just turns me off...

I dunno... What do you guys think?

the thing is, every MMO is a copy of eachother. And the only reason ppl keep comparing this with WoW, is because WoW is the biggest MMO out there.

But look at the MMO's before WoW, they had the same system. Specific colours for loot, dungeons, raids, etc.

Too be honest, i'm glad it follows the same model as WoW,EQ, Warhammer Online etc. Makes it easier to master, and I can be assured the controls will be intuitive, not crazy and unbearable.

Well im still gonna get it even though it might be similar to WoW. I just like the fact that it is a Star Wars mmo that is NOT Star Wars Galaxies...

I'll know a lot more after playing in the final beta weekend myself, but I'm becoming increasingly skeptical the more I see of the gameplay. If the fully-voiced story additions are the only unique thing about this game, I don't think it will be enough.

And like Rapter mentioned, that video is indeed unbearable, but only that to me. You can skip to any point in it and it's just FFVOW-FVOW-WOOH-VOW for 10 minutes. Definitely going to keep the volume off in any sizable battle.

To be honest, I won't mind the sound, and in any large raid in WoW, the sound was rough too, but i turned the sound off before BC even came out, it clashed with vent/TS.

I think the intricacies of the companion system, space battles, and a team that seems to have a knack for innovation, will be more than enough to keep this game interesting, I could be wrong, but that is why there is a cancel subscription button.
