Steam Connection Error

Yes, I have finally encountered the magic of Steam. Never before have I encountered this problem, but it has finally reared its ugly head.

The problem is that my Steam does an update when I boot it up, but it doesn't really update, then it skips to opening my Steam account. I get a connection error, and no amount of restarting or retrying will fix this. I could really use some help, because this error is preventng me from playing games online (at least on VAC servers, but I only play on eGO, so yeah).

Any help is greatly appreciated.
 
Sorry felon, that topic did not help me. The thing is that I can join a game and play for a bit, but then I get booted out with the message: Could not Connect to the VAC server. Any suggestions?
 
Once again felon, no luck on that topic either. As for Popcorn's suggestion, I am doing that right now.

The worst part is that now I have uninstalled Steam and attempted to reinstall it, and now it will not even run. It now gives me an error window stating that: Steam.exe (main exception): Unable to load library Steam.dll .
Any ideas on this?
 
Well Fox, the topic you provided me did not help :( . I am starting to lose hope for Steam. But, I do have a few more aces up my sleeve. Hopefully, I can get this fixed.
 
To most peoples surprise, Steam does actually help out very well but its a matter of waiting for the help. So patience would be the most effective thing. If not, then uninstall Steam and reinstall. Always seems to work for me.
 
Well blitz, thanks for the advice. BTW, uninstalling and then reinstalling has only made my problem worse :( . I have a help topic up on the Steam website, and am currently waiting for help.

I just don't get it though. About 7 out of 10 things I update end up not working after the update. It is actually starting to annoy me, almost to the point where I refuse to update things now.
 
After reading that topic, I found nothing wrong with my router.

I have reason to believe I might have a virus, or a piece of soft ware that really, REALLY does not like things that update. At some point today or tomorrow, I am going to do a total Hard Drive wipe, followed by a re-installation of everything I had. I want to take this time to thank everyone here who tried to help out. If you have any more suggestions, feel free to leave them here. Thanks.
