Support Class tips

Hey guys,
Just really got back into BF3 after a few months hiatus and wanted to get some Support Class tips from you guys. Hit me up!
always drop ammo.
going prone can help.
suppressing fire is one of the strong points of this class so spam away.
extended mag helps often. there is almost no reason not to use it.
3.4 or whatever scope is what most people seem to use.

1. mortar from uncaps while you still can (the ability to do so is going away in an upcoming patch)
2. c4 and stealthiness takes down vehicles faster than any other method (without the help of teammates anyway)
3. if you plan to camp, always put some claymores down

Right Thunder ????? Come on vent and im sure we can give you some great tips as well, we have very good supports in eGO and as Thunder said, join the competitive team and we will guide you personally.

Whichever weapon you chose, bi pods are usually not worth the effort. Some of the larger caliber weapons have more recoil, but a silencer will help with this a lot. Optics, whatever your preference.
Mortars you can enlarge your map to see a larger area, this gives a lower accuracy, but with a little practice you'll get the hang of it and you can see any enemy mortars setting up in range to hit you.

I agree with what jtipton said about the suppressors on LMG class, add a foregrip and red dot and you basically have a 100 round assault rifle that wont give you away on mini map.
From personal experience just in case you might be wondering... the most powerful gun for this class is the pkp pecheneg, it does enough damage to drop a soldier in 3 hits with body shots
if you use this gun though remember to keep tight control over your trigger finger, at further distances dont burst, shoot semi and level out your aim. Oddly enough i find this gun handles like a day of defeat weapon would in that if you aim high and burst at mid range its pretty much a guaranteed kill.

I use the M249 a lot for some reason.
If I know I want mobility, I use the foregrip and suppressor. More accurate on the move. Spare the couple seconds to drop the bipod by mistake (that gets me killed a lot). Claymore the choke points, entrances to mcoms, or path to squad sniper.
If I'm on defense and won't be moving much but rather covering a particular entry-way, I do tend to use the bipod. Not just prone but dropping it on a window ledge helps me a lot. I take off the suppressor because I want maximum damage (I guess that will change next patch)and bullet speed, and extended mag.
Claymore to cover my flank.
With claymores, you can use two, you just have to drop ammo to get the second one. I didn't know that for quite a while. If you try to drop a third, I think it removes the first, but not sure.
