Which edition of Vista is better?

I'm currently using window xp media edition 32 bit. I'm pretty sure my comp support 64 bit so I'm looking for either Home Premium or Ultimate Edition of Vista. Should I update?

I would just get home premium. I wouldn't think you would need anything from ultimate.

Hah, I wouldn't worry about animated wallpaper, because well... 1) it kills your memory and your processing just to make it move, and well I'm pretty sure you'd like to play games, by the way the Radeon 3870X2 is doubled in performance if you switch from XP2 to Vista Home Premium, hah eat that XP lovers

Join us Lekk. The only reason you should ever get Ultimate is if your a really hard-core Windows fanboy. Some of its features are definitely interesting, but Home Premium is where the party's at.

Well my comp has 4gb of ram and XP only picks up 3.4Gb because of the 512 mb 8800 GT that's why I want to install 64 bit Vista. I have a copy of Home Premium but I'm planning to get a copy of Ultimate as well...
Now if i m going to install it, is it possible to install on 2nd hard drive? so I can have XP 32 bit on drive C and Vista 64 bit on drive D?

Let's say I have files on Drive D, will vista installation delete them if I install on that drive?

Yeah I think during the installation windows needs to reformat the drive so anything you have on there will be gone. I might be wrong though.

Usually you reformat the drive before installing any windows stuff to avoid all complications. If you've got stuff left or by misstake installs the new windows into the old windows folder it nearly can't be runned annymore. and if now installed correctly 1st time you might end up with maybe 5-10 copies of "users" or "documents and settings" so i'd buy a new harddrive and use the old one(s) as a extra bit of space with all the old stuff still on it...

well what I did was ghost the XP from 80 Gb HD to 250 Gb. Then install Vista ultimate on 500 Gb HD....
