So this will be my new desktop give or take a few items but with opinions it will help, anything bad about this setup?

The main problem I see is the fact that you are not building it yourself. I am looking through some of the pricing simply on upgrading components, and I am disgusted.

For example, $150 to upgrade from 8gb to 16gb of ddr3 1600 ram. That is just wow. Buying 4x4gb 1600 on newegg will only run you $90, no upgrade needed.

The $650 upgrade to a 3930k from a 3820 is also crazy. 3930k on newegg is $570 while the 3820 is a $300 cpu itself.

Raid 0 is not all it is cracked up to be. Performance benefit is meh, and double the chance of losing your data is the real deal breaker. A single drive 1tb mechanical drive for storage with a 120/128gb ssd for os/programs/games would be the best setup imo.

The graphics card pricing seems pretty ridiculous as well. The gtx 555 is only oem, but I assume it is below the gtx 560 if common sense prevails. $250 to upgrade from single to sli is crazy as well. That is the price of a 7850 which will likely obliterate it.

So in conclusion, please strongly consider building it yourself. Beyond the immense savings, the knowledge you will learn through the process and research of how to do it yourself (which there are plenty of guides and videos, even in this forum) is invaluable. You will also find that the quality of the components such as the memory, graphics card, motherboard, and especially the power supply (a crucial component on which all other components rely) will be much better when you buy separately as opposed to what dell will give you.

Please read through the guide on this forum by phobus to give you an idea of what is involved. If you decide this might be a route you would like to go, I would be more than willing to give you a list of the components to fit your budget (what was the overall cost going to be anyways?) that will be a bit cheaper while providing better components.
 
well since i've been with dell for about 11 years now I've order everything from them thoe total cost for all that was going to be around $1,700-/+ 200 I know how to build a computer from scratch and the pros and cons of building one. I just don't want to lol but I will take a look at that stuff and see which way I would want to go
 
For $1700....those specs?......that's disgusting. Completely disgusting. For that amount of scratch on a do-it-yourself build, you would have an amazing rig.
 
Not sure how you are swinging $1700 when the base price is $1500 and upgrading cpu alone is $650. If that is truly the price, then that is a steal. Even the monitor is a $300 or so upgrade.
 
im using my dell account and each year you get a % off and either low no interest
 
So after customizing this to your specs, I have the build at $3000. What dell account gives you that much off? And how did you figure out $1700 +/- $200?
 
To me this would be better.. even though it's not as good as a cpu, the gpu more than makes up for it.
