Alright guys, I've had my current asus m2n32 sli delixe wi-fi edition for at least 2.5 months now. everything has been working perfectly, aside a few bumps in vista.
This past friday, after having comcast highspeed hooked up (i haven't had internet for almost a month) everything was back on track. Then, Monday, sometimae after 430 pm when i went to work, no internets. Comcast box has all it's lights blinking indicating it is on and happy, yet i have no connection.
I call comcast. They look at my modem on their system, and say that it seems all is go. I relay to the, that it is not. They ask me to check my IP. Instead of the usual 68.xx.xx.xx ip, with dhcp and all that fun stuff automatically filled in, im pulling an ip of 169.xx.xx.xx.
Another 2 days go by and i get a technician on site, same guy that set me up, knows his stuff. We go over everything, drivers, modem connection, cable connection, he checks the service closet. A guy down the hall plugs his laptop in, and gets a 68.xx.xx.xx ip, and gets on the internet. By then, i'm like omgwtfbbqsauce!
on monday, no settings were changed, no new drivers added, nothing. No changes to my computer/setup were made. and yet now my onboard nvidia lan will not setup and recognize my modem.
This happens in both windows XP AND Vista. So i am thinking hardware failure, on the board. I already ordered a pci express 1x ethernet card, should arrive monday. Till then, can anyone give me some pointers here?
