What are the chances of having sniper limits put on the teams in BC2? A few of us having been talking the past several days and it's getting to the point where entire squads are recon. If we did impose a limit, what would be fair...3 or 4 per team?

I'm pretty sure eGO will never impose restrictions on weapons or classes (except for glitches and exploits)

And I also think that is against EA Terms of usage (whatever its called)

Yep, EA's Terms of Use is the only thing that's preventing us to limit/restrict weapons, classes, ect. Granted, there are some servers that run a plugin that'll kill/kick you if you choose a certain class or gun, but they run the risk of having their server(s) removed if someone were to report them.

Something we have to face on Heavy metal..it is a snipers dream map, second with a lot of folks starting new soldiers in BC2, there are going to be snipers. Third is not everyone that plays is "team" orientated, yea it sucks but what can you do?
I have come to the conclusion that most BC2 players just don't care. WE know from experience that team play wins the game, we can not force this on ANYONE,but, we can play our game and worry about the rules like we are supposed to as admins. Yes it is nerve racking as all get out, but, this is what makes our server, our heavy metal server number 12 in the world.
We want people to come here play their game and have fun, so what we have to sacrifice a few looses or put up with an entire team of snipers.
We are eGO, we will do what is right, we will stand tall and proud in doing so, we are eGO. Honor and integrity are our trademarks, we are eGO. We will forge the way when others can not, we will take that flag, rush that m-com for WE ARE eGO!!!!!!!!!

Wish EA would allow us to set some restrictions so like to you said there could only be like 3 snipers that would be great but ppl might start going sniper just to trol people by having that class.

I wonder if we could have a no camping rule where you can camp but if it gets extensive then you could kick them?

In any Battlefield map other than Metro (and I guess even including Metro), camping is a legitimate strategy when defending.

In the real world, I'm pretty sure it's called "holding your position". And if that is a good position, why not hold it for a while?

Now, if this were CoD, I would be all for a no-camping rule, because the maps in those games are basically a camper's heaven, where everything everyone does is find the smallest, darkest corner to hide in and shoot whoever walks/runs by.

It is true most of the good teams when you lose the game because there is RECON more ... since we can not have a limit RECONS in the game!

I concur. Besides, there is usually some "encouragement" from the teammates when the snipers get overwhelming too. Heavy Metal is such a large map, with lots of nice recon perches, that it's hard to say how many is too many anyway. I've won with a good team that's 1/3 recon, but they spot and communicate, they coordinate mortar strikes, etc.

I've been on some games with limits, which suicide you if you come in and the limit is already reached. But when you have snipers on that server that don't spot, or don't communicate, you want more. At some point the camping sniper realizes that k/d is not that important.

Papa

As long as a sniper can communicate, observe, troll to a certain extent and kill, i have no problems having a team that has a lot of snipers.

Its actaully kinda funny also when you see an entire team of wookies runningup a hill. Then you just line them up in a beaton zone and walah!Dead wookies. I shouldnt beak because I tend to be a wookie but I can recognize when a squad is struggling and what they need unless I am pinned down by a reach out and touch someone operator. Then the gloves are off and if it permts a little personal with a shank.

I also agree with papawhen you have a team playing sniper they are a great assest. Especially for suppression at longer ranges, spotting and knocking out a hornet nest of enemy with mortar. Soften them up for the deep plunge of goons and medics.:scared:
