Hey everyone,

A couple of friends and I are launching an esports website index. The way it works is by having users add their favorites gaming websites and eventually with your help we'll create a network that will make it easier for everyone to find the top websites related to their game.

Connect gamers by adding your favorite link right now at Wasdex - Home

If you have any questions just reply to this thread or email us at [email protected]
the wasdex-team

P.S. I hope I am allowed to post this as it really is a non-profit project and I think the website will really help the community as a whole

Oh and just to clarify again, this is not for money and I am not attending to spam forums. It's just a project which I have started in my free time because I love gaming and think a site like this could be really useful.

View but no comments

Hey, so I see there were plenty of view on this post but unfortunately no comments.

Please let me know what you think of this idea. The website in itself does not look too awesome at the moment but we are making it better everyday.

I got some very helpful responses from other people so far so I really hope some people here could give some constructive criticism! Ty :)

Couldn't I just get the same result by going to Google? It's never been an issue for me in the past.

So Mr wasdex, I did a lil bit of research on your name & you seem to be on all kinds of forums & stuff, but you failed to actually post the site itself. Very few of us dont wanna have to take out the word "support" from the email that you posted.

In the future, if you want to promote something like this, then it would be great if you would post the name of the site first, then follow it with a support email link like the one you already posted. This way you will be able to get people's attention.

However, seeing as most games & developers are heading in the direction of Valve & their Steam digital distribution program (except EA), im not really sure that we have a need for such a site. Besides, I believe that the site would be rather useful for like mods for single player games, but then thats what we have Google for (no offense).

We appreciate your time & trying to get people's attention toward your site though.

PS- For those of you interested in checking out their site to give them some attention, the site is www.wasdex.net

Hey guys,
thx for the responses

So the reason I do not try to directly post the site is because people in most of these forums absolutely hate advertising and most cannot look beyond that. As a result they just bash you for the fact that you are trying to get peoples attention and really don't care about your idea itself (trust me i have had my experiences)

As to the idea with google. This is the most common response I get but I have to say after visiting the site many people start realizing that the site makes searching for other websites a lot simpler than google does.

If you just know the name of the game and type that into google it is not that easy to find stuff. Sure you will get the big sites first but after that it can be very difficult to find smaller sites pertaining to the game. I think this site would be most beneficial for niche sites.

Well I can understand, especially since my dad has started up his own company & business website & I know about how hard it is to start up a new site. I would suggest gettin more content on the site before gettin others to check out the site. The more content you have, the more likely it is that people will use your site more than Google to do their research. However, I think that your site will be more beneficial to those single player games that encourage built in mods like Just Cause 2.
