Great build. Only problem I really see is the 8150. I would ditch amd for the much faster intel:

3570k + asrock extreme4 z77 mobo

or a combo like this:

For ram, 1600 is about the best you need:

Additionally, do you do anything that will actually need 16gb? 8gb is plenty for a gaming build.

Save yourself the $20 bucks or so.

And for hdd, you should be able to get a 7200 1tb for that price. Pretty sure the green drives are a bit slower.

Yeah the green drives do some silly stuff with the RPMs to save power. Black is where you want to be with a WD drive.

Ok cool thanks for the help I have changed the ram and the hardrive the links are new.
I went with the 8 gb and the black wd harddrive @ 10,000 rpm it's only 300gb but that's all I need.

As far as the mobo; I really like AMD and would prefer a nice mobo for my amd cpu!

It is a mistake to go AMD for that price. 3570k is a much stronger performer. While you may like AMD personally, getting an inferior product out of loyalty is not the smart play. Intel is universally recommended for budgets this high for a reason. I strongly suggest you reconsider.

The only areas where the 8150 wins is in programs that can take advantage of its "8 cores". Since that means nothing for the average user and gamer, intel is the clear winner. Just look at the gaming benchmarks at the bottom. That and the single threaded performance where intel obliterates bulldozer. Also, this is the slower 2500k that it is being compared to, not the newer 3570k which has even better single threaded performance. Most programs can only utilize at most 4 cores, some only 2, so don't be blinded by the fact it has "8 cores".

Im a Amd Fanboy and what huckleberry says is true...I run a 955 black and a ASUS Crosshair V Formula-Z, I wont upgrade my Processor entail Amd gets there stuff together,

For cpu, I would get the K series which allows for overclocking. Free performance gain if you need it. Additionally, not sure hyperthreading will do much for you. It is nice to have, but the 3570k would save you a bit of money and be just as fast for the average user/gamer.

For gpu, lifetime warranty via xfx means very little as most people keep their gpu 3 years tops. And xfx no longer has transferable warranty, so companies like gigabyte and msi whose warranties are serial number based actually are better. Also, I would much rather have the aftermarket cooling solution that comes on these then the reference cooler which can get pretty loud:

Really depends if you need anything special such as specific rear ports or pci slots. All are going to allow for crossfire/sli, have sata6, usb 3.0, decent overclocking. The extreme4 is universally recommended, but it does have slightly inferior vrms to say the asus or the gigabyte.

For hdd, I would strongly consider switching over to an ssd. I purchased a 120gb hyperx 3k a month back on amazon for $60. With Black Friday/Cyber Monday approaching fast, get ready for some good deals. Use this for your OS, main programs, and a couple of games, and your system will fly. 10k mechanical drives can't even touch the speed of these. And for a storage drive, a 7200 rpm will be fine such as an old one from your previous build. Even a 5400 wouldn't be that big of a deal.

Just my thoughts. Also, if you have a microcenter near you, definitely take advantage of the ivy bridge cpu/mobo bundle discount savings in store.

What's wrong with the ram I picked? because the ram i picked seems to be faster.
The video card you picked seems to be the same as the xfx one I picked how is it better? Just the fan?
I already have a ssd listed along with a hhd.

1600 is all you need. Beyond that, not much is noticeable. The samsung I listed though is the most recommended enthusiast ram as it is manufactured with 30nm technology vs 60nm of other ram allowing for much lower power consumption with a lower voltage, extremely low profile, and overclockability like no other set. The ram you had listed the other day was 8gb sticks of 1866 I believe. Dual channel, that puts you at 16gb which is fine if a little overkill for an average rig. However, I don't see a person needing 32gb, so these 4gb samsung sticks would be plenty, and 2 sets of 2x4gb would be cheaper than the ram you had picked.

The new ram you have today is old technology using 1.65 V vs even the standard 1.5 V of newer ram. Timings are decent, but the huge heat spreaders could definitely be problematic, especially with large tower coolers. That and it costs more than the samsung which is crazy.

Yes, the video card is still a 7950, but the aftermarket cooler is important as it allows for cooler temps and quieter operation. The cooler temps also allow for larger overclocking if you want to in the future. And cooler temps translate to longer life.

SSD you have listed is a sandforce based one that I would avoid. Crucial m4, samsung 830, or vertex 4 are the go to drives atm. Or intel.

The video card I kinda want to keep because the games come with it as a combo but I will look around and see if I can find the combo on a card similar close to what you suggest!

I went to MicroCenter today and they only charge 10 bucs more to get the i7 plus you get $40 off any Mobo you want as a combo so screw the i5 lol! Please help me pick a mobo for my sexy new i7!
