Settings Problem in CSS

Okay first of all I haven't been playing CSS much until recently so I apologize for not stopping by and spamming your bowurdz.

Secondly I am having a problem with my settings in CSS. I used to be on XP and had no problems but last year I upgraded my PC and picked up Windows 7. The problem is that my settings don't save and I have to redo them every time I start up CSS. Also when the map reloads or changes then CSS crashes.

I am guessing this is a problem with a file somewhere but I have no idea what.

Can one of you peeps help me out with this please? I'll give you an e-hug I promise. (lie) :blush:

I used to have this problem on XP and it stopped when I moved to Windows 7 lol. As for the commands the only thing I can think of is if you have a config/autoexec in your cfg folder ( C:/Program files (86)/steam/steamapps/steamname/counterstrikesouce/cstrike/cfg.

If you do and it isn't really needed try deleting it.
If you have -autoconfig on your launch options take it off.
Disable steam cloud.

If all else fails try putting exec lab into console. This resets css back to complete default settings, but it should allow you to change the settings to how you want them and it should stay. ( Might cause lag and choke problems, so if this doesn't work typing exec config.cfg should undo the changes.)

Yes you kind of did help.

First I deleted my config file in cstrike/cfg
But I also deleted the config file in Steam\userdata\number\number\remote\cfg
then I ran CSS again and it remade the config file. I did up my settings then closed CSS, redid my binds and then started CSS again ... viola! My settings were still there.
