Annoying New Chat-box in Latest Steam Update

I actually like because of the history. You can see whos outta line if you missed the name

So true Trihard the console does that but now its even easier Valve mighta thought of that too

The chatbox does have that history scrolling thing, but they should have made it more transparent.

My custom HUD is also broken. The capture/kill messages almost completely block the right side of the screen... I'm not happy.

only decent thing about it, is that you can look back at what other people typed if you missed what they said (even though you can acces that in console) and also you can set filters to it so you dont have to listen to spammers

I generally like the chat-box but there are two things that need to be changed:
First, the user needs to have the option to turn it on or off.
Second, you need to be able to exit by pressing 'y' again (press 'shift' + 'y' to type y as the first letter in a message)

However I like how you can view all of the messages and I like the slightly smaller text it uses.

the text smaller is great for high resoultions but sometimes hard to read in a flash

I actually don't mind it after playing with it for a day, in some ways it's actually convenient!

all the sstuff about it not being transparent i dont see if it was how would that help, i mean you cant do anything while typing with or without a transparent box and as soon as you hit enter it goes away.
