Imagine if you released two commercial albums that flopped, thirty years ago. You were disappointed, but shrugged your shoulders and life carried on. You went on to live a life of simplicity, earning your daily living doing hard construction labor (non-union).

Then, one day thirty-ish years later, you found out that your albums went gold in one country and had an amazing transformative effect on it's national consciousness, helping create a national mindset conducive towards colossal cultural transformation towards the positive. People had multiple cultural legends about you, and you were considered an iconic superstar and national hero.

Cray cray, right?

Up for many awards.

Imdb page.

My girlfriend had Netflix'd it. Just watched it cold 4 days ago. It was amazing.

Had me up till the cray cray part... (man i hate those kind of words)

But yeah. It is a great documentary about one of the most humble guys ever in a situation that he was in.

Also the music is freaking awesome!

Yeah I hate it when people use cray

but as a guy who doesn't like documentaries, I think this was the better ones. It has a story behind it and can get really fascinating. Nice recommendation.
