From what I have heard in game (ie. 2FORT), some players spawn camp a lot, or harass people outside of game via steam. I don't know 'who', but people say that some act egoistical (no pun intended). I have seen spawn campers, but never met a 'rude' (e) member :/ I honestly just think a few bad experiences made them sour, I've only had good ones.
It is simple enough. eGO expects players on our servers not to show disrespect. When players feel that they should not be required to meet these standards they are invited to do so. Then they are shown the door. Then they have the door locked against them. All because they did something that is acceptable in most other places they chose to game.
In some cases we actually make them think about their conduct. Not everyone enjoys a look into that particular mirror. It makes them uncomfortable. Since the problem cannot be with them it follows that eGO is not being reasonable. eGO is acting like spoiled children who have ruined the players fun by running to mamma to tell on the player and their mamma sent the player home. eGO must be worthy of contempt because we do not understand the meaning of "Mature" in gaming.
Bottom line: We play here and admin here and insure that others are treated as we want to be treated. Not everyone gets it.

I think most of it stems from people just being immature. A lot of people are against the no swearing rule, just because they apparently can't formulate any other language to use other than swear words. It just comes down to really immature people.

Quaff got it; I think a lot of it is generated from the 'no swearing rule'. Simon is right as well; if they cannot complete a sentence without a 'swear' (I don't have issues with swearing since my mother does so a lot and I believe it's just social stigma attached to a word), they have issues. I swear a lot, but while I game on the server, I say knucklehead, weenies, crud, and fiddlesticks lol.

1. When something/someone becomes successful there are always people full of envy, just waiting for a chance to lash out with their tongue, no reason needed. Welcome to the Internet.
2. On our servers we enforce many rules, including no swearing or racism. Many players think that just because the game is rated M for "mature" it means they can do whatever they damn please. Those players can not comprehend the fact that it's our servers, our rules, and if they don't like it then no one forces them to play here.
3. As with every large community there are always some rotten apples. Of course as soon as leadership is aware of someone breaking the eGO Code of Cunduct they are delt with accordingly, but you can never weed everyone like that out. Such people are also partially a reason as to why people would hate EdgeGamers, they basically make us look bad.
