New Monitor

What is the best monitor I could buy that is under 200 dollars? It would be most appreciated with whatever you can come up with! I don't know much about computers and monitors so any help with what to look for would be nice. Thank you!

Monitors do not matter. Just try to get one with very low m/s ratings. Around 3-1 m/s is fairly decent. You didnt say what size you wanted nor what resolution.

I would like a rather high resolution and for size, a big one. (Say one big enough to look good on a three foot desk.)

If you up your budget, you can get one of the cheaper 27" 2560x1440 ips Korean monitors on ebay. I think they go for $300-350. That is if you really want a big, high resolution monitor beyond the standard 24" 1920x1080 (which is probably what you are looking at otherwise).

Hey JoJo, you may want to consider getting the Newegg newsletter in the future if you ever want a really good deal on something (like a monitor for ex). I plan to get my 2nd monitor from Newegg (since they always put their stuff on sale like all the time).

This. Do not buy from best buy. If you buy it in person you should buy it from Fry's electronics or support your local computer shop and buy there. Anything but the TERRIBLE customer service of best buy. I spent days trying to return a TV and they finally took it after I had to call the company of the TV which they never told me to do.

Microcenter is a great local computer store. They have the lowest prices on intel processors anywhere.

Also newegg is great too. I ordered a part from them that ended up being incompatible for some strange reasons I won't get into here and they didn't charge me a restocking fee and they didn't even charge me for the return shipping because my family has bought parts for several computers from them before.

Amazon.com has a great selection of PC components and are price competitive with Newegg. In addition their return policy is even more liberal than Newegg - 30 days no questions asked.

As for Best Buy, as of 03/03/2013, they will match online prices which in most cases means a huge discount on their absurdly high in-store prices. The big problem with Best Buy is they mostly stock 'consumer' items and not the high-end equipment advanced users want and expect.

Fry's also matches online pricing. I've saved a bundle just looking up an item in-store and getting them to discount it on the spot.
