SMG skins never work?

Every time I try to install one, it just stays at the vanilla skin. Even with simple retextures. My skins work on everything else, however.

Yeah, I'm installing them the same way I install all other skins, but SMG skins just refuse to work.

It could be because they might be out of date as well... I have had that problem happen to me as well

I think the reason most older SMG skins don't work because awhile back Valve converted them into c_models yet most of the older skins still have the v_models so that may be the problem but it is mostly a thought.

Goyan beat me to it, but that would be correct. Older skins won't work unless someone changed the format of the file in recent time.

So I could change the file name to c_whatever instead of v_whatever and it would solve the problem?
