The game will provide 64 players, and it will be similar to BF3. The game will also remains in modern setting. If the rumors are true, we will be getting a tones of extra new features though, most notably: the Commander will return.

The game is set to unveil March 26th at GDC 2013.

Numerous Details

Battlefield 4 will stick with 64 players. Maps are larger and more detailed.
Three factions: US, Russia, and an unnamed ?Eastern/Asian? faction.
4 classes with ?additional features and tweaks? compared to BF3
Shipping with same amount of maps as BF3, there are plans for lots of DLC.
DLC is already in planning stages.
Battlefield 4 Premium will be available on day one and include some perks.
Most of the guns and vehicles from BF3 will return.
More squad features.
Commander feature returns, but won?t be the same as in BF2
Battlefield 4 is coming out on both PS3 and PS4.
Game is more of an evolution rather than revolution of the series. Both technically and gameplay wise.
Will ship with more game modes than BF3
Will ship with more close quarter infantry maps than BF3
Frostbite 2 engine is pushed further in BF4. Better effects, higher res textures, more detailed game worlds, etc.
BF3 will still be supported after Battlefield 4 launches.
There is plan of some sort of integration between BF3 and BF4. Could be Battlelog-only.
Battlelog will be updated for Battlefield 4 with more social features and more detailed stats.
Single-player and co-op will return, new writers involved this time.

If we dont get a bf3 maps DLC and strike at karkand i wont be happy like i would love to see grand bazaar and seine crossing there for being classic bf3 maps

I'm personally opposed to that. The whole point of a new game is to give us new maps, storylines, and characters. I don't want to pay to play the same maps but with better graphics that I can play in BF3. If you love those maps just play BF3. Don't ask that EA turns this series into a series that just reskins old maps with slightly better graphics and sells it to us for $60. I love a lot of the BC2 maps but I don't want to see them in BF3.

Stop ruining Battlefield please.

Ask for Dragon Valley, not Grand Bazaar.

Also, Karkand isn't a BF3 map (unless you specifically want the lousy remake).

I don't want to wait that long! :cursing:

Whew. Well, well...Battlefield 3 still feels like an extremely fresh game. While that looks good on DICE, I really don't want a Battlefield 4 yet for the same reason...hell, I haven't gotten half the enjoyment I could out of Battlefield 3's maps. As far as they may be from perfect, they're still wonderful, each of them, and as Short said, I'd rather not see returning maps becoming a trend with Battlefield. Although it may be saddening, the maps wouldn't be worth so much if they came standard with each game.

Unfortunately, it looks like I'm shelling out another $120 this fall/winter between the base game and premium. Whoo!

That's because off there dlc release plan, dice is actually the first company who has it right in terms off dlc access/premium. They don't let their game die.

I'm sure the maps will be beautiful and the pile of guns will be chin, NO eyebrow high!

But...that's true of any FPS on the market. Personally I hope they focus on gameplay and player experience. Less deathmatch. More co-op and objective based play. Four average players working as a team should always beat four star players doing their own thing. Hopefully the game design respects and follows that premise...or at least contains it in deathmatch only game modes.

I'm waiting for that revolution in FPS when there are important things to do other than shoot at people. Arming MCOM's is good, but there could be so much more. Multi-objective maps would be an absolute blast...squad A raids the guard post and hacks the security net, squad B infiltrates the drainage tunnels and plants the bomb, squads C & D assault the remote barracks, sabotaging vehicles and delaying reinforcements. Way more complicated to design and pull off? Yep. Rewarding in a way no FPS has yet been? Yep.

That's my two pesos'...

MAG for the PS3 tried that but failed due to too few players. They had 256 player maps and each part of each team had a different assignment. The idea is cool and I would love to see it implemented well.
