Dual Core Processing and Motherboard capacity

I was reading in the owners manual for the motherboard that it supports a dual core processor up to 4000+. So what I was wondering, is if I'd need a new motherboard for this processor or would a 4000+ be good enough for DOD

NO that motherboard will NOT run that processor.

The processor is of type: Socket AM2
That motherboard is of type: Socket 939

You want to buy a motherboard that is type AM2+ if you are buying a motherboard.

Yes 4000+ will run dod, but buy somehting more because dod is getting old and you want to run new games too. The 5600+ is probably the best price for what you get but the 6400+ is pretty great.

So are the phenoms.

It says something about windows vista...I DONT WANT VISTA...but the mother board looks good, and it had a good review and costs about $90..Wich is the beter buy?

Looks good, and the vista thingy is to make the customer know that it's "compatible" with vista, but it works ok with xp too.
