My HP computer keeps randomly shutting off.

They say this is a problem with HP computers and my laptop will shut off randomly, sometimes immediately after I turn it on.

[Its not overheating and I clean out the vents with a air spray can].

Does anyone know a way to fix this or am i stuck?

Easy fix. Boot your laptop while the charger is plugged in. My HP has that issue, and when its plugged in, it boots up fine. Keep it plugged in until at desktop and stable.

This doesn't help really. My laptop shuts off even when plug up, in fact I think I have only seen it shut off when I do have it plug up.

Sounds like you got a bad battery connection, which will explain fetter's fix. So the issue will have to be either with the battery itself, it's connection, or possibly the motherboard's connection TO the battery.

Not sure the best way to fix or test that out beyond getting HP to replace it or test it themselves.
