Call of Duty 4 Error

Well I had enough of playing single player on CoD4 so i wanted to play multi player and i get this message:

ERROR: Could not find zone 'c:\program files\steam\steamapps\common\call of duty 4\zone\english\common_mp.ff'

please help me

I'm guessing the file is missing, right click the icon in steam, goto properies, then local file, and hit verify game cache integrity, if that doesn't work try reinstalling. =X

Seems to be, if not common, at least a recognized error. I cannot find any definitive solution. But I have a few questions.

1) Are you running X-Fire while attempting to run this?
2) Is this a pirated copy and if so, from which distributor?

i wasnt using x-fire and its not pirated i bought off of steam.

Well that rules out every "hey, maybe it's this" solution I've found. When in doubt, delete the game and re-install it. Other than that, wait till they patch it.

Delete the "c:\program files\steam\steamapps\common\call of duty 4\zone\english\" and try restarting steam.

lol srry morbid i just delete it and im going to reinstall it now.
