Warning: OS Paged Pool Memory Low?

Everytime i play on a Valve made map, it says up in the corner of the screen: Warning: OS Paged Pool Memory Low. (Like where it says losing connection and all that stuff.

Anyonw know why or how to fix it?

How much memory does your computer have, it sounds like you either don't have enough physical/virtual ram or you're getting a memory leak.

I have about 50 gig. Do you think a tf2 reinstall would help? Bceause i need to do it anyway. Some of my files are currupt.

If you have 256MB ram that is probably the cause.

no, not a leak. It is that your "Virtual Memory" is low. If you have a Gig of RAM, then you are probably running things in the background and running out of RAM and therefor you need to overflow into "Virtual Memory" which is really just a file on your hard drive that Windows uses to store data that it doesn't have room for in RAM. If you have a lot of stuff on your hard drive, and not much free space. How much free space is there on your hard drive?

No, what he means is that you need to free up more space on whichever drive holds your pagefile (default is the C drive).

Though, if the game isn't bombing and you're not noticing a slow down in the performance- you can just ignore the message. It is, afterall, just a warning message. Your computer will take no harm from this, the worst you can expect is for the game to crash- probably with a "memory exhausted" or some such error.

Fixing OS Memory Pool Low

Open the registry editor. That's done by going to Run, then type in "regedit."

In the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management

Double click on "PagedPoolSize". Hexadecimal is listed first. Change the "Value Data" to one of these below:
Note: You only need to enter EITHER Hexadecimal or Decimal. They both are the same.

You do not need anything bigger than 400Mb... in most cases 300Mb is too much as well. The bigger the number, the more memory you devote to the Paged Pool.

Once you are done, make sure you reboot your computer.

Yep. He's got it right. It's not hard as long as you follow the steps. It fixed it for me.

I dont have a Paged pool size in that folder...

Go to your device manager in control panel>display adapters>"Your video card here">Right click> there should be something about updating it. That worked for me
