How did you get into CSS/CS?

My brother bought it in 2004 and played it for a bit. He became busy with real life so he stopped playing games and he gave me the account.

I picked up the game when a friend told me about it back in 2001 or so. It was 1.3 and very hard game to learn as it was pro's and noobs in most servers. After getting owned for a few months I started getting good with my friend who was already pretty good at the game. We had a local lan at the nearby mall that had $20 all day passes or $4 per hour. We would get an all day pass and load up on foot court Chinese(Lo mein and orange chix mmhmm). We ended up registering to the weekly tourny and ended up being 1 & 2 each time bringing home some cash and all day passes. Eventually a clan found my friend and he began doing competitions in CAL league and Tournaments in New England. After a while he get me a tryout to join the group he was with and I stayed with them until 1.4 came out. The whole dynamic of the game change and so many good players like myself at the time just left the game. Bunny jumping was gone and so many tactics that was drilled into my head went out the window including my favorite AK deagle combo. One spray of 2-3 bullets(no recoil) with a deagle kill shot. Also everyone started getting head shots all the time. Before it was hard and then at 1.4 it was opened up ALOT. Spray and prey noobs were introduced and the playing field was leveled. I didn't start playing again until about 2 months ago when people kept talking about jail. Now I play almost every day and I have enjoyed my time with them.

Thank for a great group!

I got into 1.6 wayyyy back when and then Source came out and I have played it ever since. My older cousin was playing 1.6 and I wanted it so bad that I mowed lawns to get enough money to play it :)

My brother bought a copy of CSS, saw him play it, I thought it was quite fun until months later, I started playing and love it (my little brother was playing it so I asked him if I could play, so yeah). 2 or 3 years after that, I bought my own copy and heck my mom was angry when she saw me bought the game and my brother found out that I've been playing CSS on his account, he was not happy (he even thought that the copy I bought was his). :D

When I was really young, dont remember how young, I watched an older cousin of mine play CS 1.6. My older brother and I thought it was cool, so when CS:S came out in 2004, we got it. Then I watched some frag video where the player was bhopping fast everywhere and tried to learn how to bhop. I was 8 or 9 years old. Then, in 2005, I got into skateboarding, and stopped playing video games. Last November or something around that, when I was swamped with schoolwork so I couldn't skate as much, I remembered CS:S and used my brother's account for a while. I found eGO Office as the very first server I played after the 7 year hiatus, and I still remember trying to bhop, going 1-17, and cursing and getting warned by an admin. After discovering the !hop feature, I had many more choices of servers and only played eGO. Then, this January, I bought CS:S on my own account, and joined eGO.

I bought the orange box, played some tf2 at first, realized it was boring, went to css had more fun

Was in a clan for Quake 2 at the time. Heard about this new game CS coming out. Once we got to try it out, we all switched to it and played it ever since. Had to be around 1999-2000 ish

A friend invited me over to play CS and i enjoyed the game a lot. Then CS:S came out and he had it so I went over and also enjoyed it. Bought it for myself and thats how my relationship started...

Been playing since it was just counter strike looooooong time ago :)

I first started PC gaming when BC2 came out. I joined HellsGamers for BC2 but when their servers died I bought CSS and started playing then. Have played on and off since then.

Oh geez...

Well, I started playing pretty much since the first CS came to life. And I loved it cuz the online gameplay was amazing.

Havent stopped ever since.

I started out on Call of Duty 2 back in 2003. Then my best bud Mayhem Death showed me CS:S and I've been playing ever since.
