I am really enjoying how they allow you a certain amount of time before you die from going outside the map, I feel it's a great way to gain a good advantage on most of the maps with flanking. I think the developers have made a few of them intentional for the savy players, what are you thoughts on this?

It's been there in the Battlefield games and has been used for that....though for BF3/BF4 they made your screen go to shit and you can't see anything.

Going out of bounds to get the edge is considered exploiting.

Out of Bounds - We consider any spot that requires driving a helicopter, parachuting, or walking/driving out of bounds to be an exploit spot. As such, no player should be in one of these spots. Additionally, a few unfair positions on some maps are considered out of bounds. If you are unsure about these areas, seek an =(eG)= or =(eGO)= ranked admin.

Try reading Server rules. It's a sticky in the Division Forum.

If this violated any rules please remove it that was not my intention, it was a theory on why they don't just have a bounding wall to prevent it in the first place other than air.

Your description is a bit vague. So from what I understand, you cannot camp on roofs that doest have a ladder or camp on peak (China rising DLC), neither can you go outbounds if it leads to safer route to an objective.

What part of walking or driving out of bounds did you not understand? Camping on a roof that you had to use a parachute or helicopter is an exploit. The other team cannot eliminate you in a reasonable manner. There are some exceptions on some maps, that is why you ask.

1) The opening question could be considered brash and offensive,
2) The topic was about going out of bounds and then elaborated on the rule posted,
3) If you are using game mechanisms to achieve fair game-play then it should be allowed, going out of bounds to gain a safe route to flank because of noob toobers or grenade spam should be allowed.

While I agree 100% that cheating and exploits like the 3rd floor at C on Lockers is something to be dealt with swiftly, I would disagree that going out of bounds and utilizing it as a strategic maneuver while avoiding the above mentioned 3 would be justifiable, and if you are utilizing game mechanics such as a Helicopter to gain access to a roof that is within the normal playing field then this should be also allowed, as it was intended by giving you the ability to (a) fly and (b) parachute to a wide array of areas within the map.

In closure I feel it was intended to diversify the game-play while making the game more realistic; if you were in actual combat and had access to said roof you'd be on that roof trying to cover your own rear. I mentioned before it was more of a theory of discussion rather than a flame festival, so please refrain from insulting comments or please avoid this post.

My intention were not to insult on my previous comment. But I wasn't aware about was rule about using vehicles to get into roof and its part of the game( atleast that what I assumed), since 90% time there variety of methods to kill the campers.

I am confused by something.

Picture the buildings in Dawnbreaker, to use but one map as an example. There's 1 (I think. Maybe 2?) with an elevator to the top. Of course, this is not out of bounds.

But what about the roof on point E? Or any other tall skyscraper? It is my understanding that this is perfectly fair and a reasonable expectation that in warfare you would utilize a transport helicopter at the start of the round to start getting some soldiers and spawn points on high ground.
Since both sides have choppers I figure it's fine.

Is this allowed on our servers?
I am not attempting to debate one way or another, just asking so that I can be in compliance.

Thanks!

Our definition for an exploit spot has always been any spot that requires parachuting, using a vehicle, or going out of bounds to get to along with any obviously broken parts of the map where you can see out but they can't see you like that roof on Bazaar in BF3. There always have been exceptions to these spots and those you will have to talk to leadership about. I really only know the BC2 ones.

Several maps in BF4 are set up for Helo insertion on the rooftops, this is obvious. These would not be considered exploits. Flying out of bounds to get to them without presenting a target would be. Landing a Chopper out of bounds and out of line of sight to repair it is an exploit. It's not using the terrain and being smarter than everyone else, it's leaving the battlefield so you can't be damaged to repair and then coming back in. Sorry no time outs till I repair or get my health back up before you get to shoot at me anymore rules here. You stay in play.

Thanks for clearing that up, jtipton. It seemed obvious to me too, but it needed clearing up so there were no assumptions. All the out-of-bounds stuff is clearly exploits - I think there is a mountain top on one of the large China Rising maps that poses such an issue too.

The stickied rules (for BC2/BF3 - I didn't see one for BF4) seemed a bit too broad as written.
