ok. im ALMOST done building my new system. i just need to save up for my graphics card. Problem is, Which one is the best for the money??!?!? i would like to spend around $200 - $230 at most. ive narrowed it down to a few cards....
And im looking for DX10 cards

8800GT 256MB

feel free to link cards that are in that price range. but the MAX i want to pay is $250
 
For the money? Depends. The 8800 Gt 256mb is good if you plan on playing games without aliasing and a relatively low resolution (1280x1024), the 3850 512 is just less performance than the 8800 Gt, but has more video RAM. Which will allow you to play at a higher resolution. And forget the 8800 GTS.

Actually, if you have about 30 more bucks, go for the 8800 GT 512. Best price to performance on the market.
 
seek for a good video card with at least 512 MB, for the money is better ATI but I recommend you Nvidia.
 
well the max resolution i will play anything at is 1280 x 1024. so would a card with only 256mb work fine?
 
A card with 256mb will work fine for your resolution, but don't expect to be able to use Anti Aliasing because that uses VRAM.

If you're running PCIe I'd say ATI. If you're AGP go Nvidia. ATI is having horrific problems with their AGP cards. I put a 2600pro in Jackpot's rig and the only driver revision that will run TF2 is 7.6 wich is the first version that included the card. They keep promising a fix but nothing so far in 3 months.

My 2900XT is awesome but it's PCIe. Haven't had any trouble at all with it.
 
Go look at my post and see my ATI one and they have i think 1600x1200?? dunno but its pretty sweet its 512mb!!
