Battlefield 4 I shouldn't have to hate our autobalance

"It prevents consistent base camp and generally helps to keep the server balanced specially at night when not many admins are on"

I just started finding more time to start playing again, and found my way to my favorite eGO servers. In ALL cases where I was autobalanced, we got beat back so bad it was to the point of spawn camping.

The autobalance is leaving some lop sided games (800-0).

its not perfect but it does its job most of the time :)

So to sum it up it's perfect and yet people leave in droves when the 120-10 crowd (they're just that good, hahahaha) makes a slaughter of it.
Just checked the last round, it ended with a difference of 1100 tickets or so and ~40 people left the server.

Having fiddled with autobalancers for a long time in the past, I have never found that works super well. They all seem to leave things to be desired. I'm not aware of which autobalancer we are currently using but I assume it's multibalancer. If it is then I assume leadership has it set to one of the default balancing options so I don't know how much can be changed by tweaking with it. This is all speculation since I can't see the configuration of the plugin because I don't have the access. It still might be worth someone's time to spend thirty minutes or an hour and look into the settings on our autobalancer. Maybe something got changed with a recent update or something.

All of this being said it works a lot better than the default autobalancer :P

Personally i would like to see the auto balancer removed and have admins rebalance teams like they do in source, that way it will NEVER get stacked if the admins scramble when things are getting one sided, no one likes playing a game where the score is 1400 tickets to 0. I've suggested this but by the looks of it, this won't be an option any time soon

my 0.02$

Source has an autobalance plugin that runs at the end and beginning of every round (at least in CSS). It's a lot easier in a game that last a couple minutes as opposed to a round that can last half an hour. Also you don't want to have the autobalance plugin removed for battlefield. The built in one is awful and will lead to more complaining than the current one has. Also what about those times where there is only one admin on? It's not like one person is gonna even out a server when the losing team is disconnecting like crazy because they are getting rolled 1400-0.

The multibalancer works most of the time to control the server. As LilShortStuff said it also helps when no admins are on to control balance and equalization. It balances and equalizes on many values and tries to move players that could help losing or all capped teams. No one is exempt from the balance including eGO members and admins. We get balanced just as well. Squad leaders could also get balanced. The only ones that dont get balanced are commanders. The ticket count can be really close or it could be far off depending on the teamwork between squad leaders and soldiers and commanders and squad leaders in the games. If everyone is doing their own thing then they will lose tickets from deaths and all cap situations. Battlefield has always been about teamwork to reach and achieve objective domination. If players dont work together then it fails. As for team stacking we understand that players of the same squad stacked on a team could cause a huge disadvantage but we have had situations where players of the same squad on different teams can cause problems too. We do our best to balance teams and keep from massive one sided issues.

I will say I had a couple good rounds recently, one had a ticket difference of about 50 at the end I think, and this was after an autobalance of a few guys, so I'm not noticing to much of a problem now, I don't know if anything was changed but I think its a little better.

I suppose its harder to say that "It shouldn't balance me, because I'm in a squad, and no my squad is broke up" merely for the fact after thinking about it, that the game automatically 98% of the time dumps a new arrival to the server straight into a squad.

I don't see any difference.. all you do is completely change up the teams mid game... I saw in the TDM like 4-5 people get moved.. So now the team that was winning and is now losing.. nothing really accomplished... just reversed it.

Scrambling teams should NOT be done during a game after yes but not during.. Sometimes we just gotta play the cards we are dealt with in life. scramble them all you want next map.

If you want better games maybe try lowering Tickets like TDM 200 or 300 fasterer turn around.. 400 sometimes can be a long game and people leave screwing up teams.

anyway I'm done on the subject its your server to do with as you like.

Thanks..
