A member of our leadership team from years ago made a thread that was posted probably before I was even in this community. It was an important thread that addressed an important problem at the time.

In the last couple weeks the general and private forums have become home to multiple threads chronicling the personal troubles of members. These need to stop.

eGO is a great and welcoming community, and it is completely understandable that members feel comfortable sharing personal information to our members. But eGO remains a community with a focus on gaming, fun, and other entertainment.

We politely ask you to refrain from making public posts regarding personal troubles. You are welcome to reach out to friends you've made through the community via private channels - steam friends or PM's etc. , or talk about it on your personal eGO blog, but please hold back on posting in the forums.

This also pertains to "good bye" or "see you soon" threads. While we appreciate everyone creating these discussions as an FYI, it draws away from the main thing we are here to focus on - gaming. We again politely ask that members use the methods listed above if they are taking time away for personal reasons so that we can keep the boards filled with positive gaming discussions.
