The Hidden:Source problem

hey... i gots a problem with hidden source...
when i launch it it goes then before i get to the main menu, it exits the game and a engine error comes up it says
Could not load library client
i have no idea what that means but...

Given that I had to do a Google search to even know what game you're talking about, I'm not sure I can be of much help. You might want to try looking through the game's forums.

based on thier forums the quick fix seems to be

create a desktop shortcut
change from -applaunch 220 to 215

might not be your fix but they have a big sticky at the top of thier forums for that error

go to the hidden source site and click forums right at the top there is a sticky with your error message
first post said to do what i told you has pics tho if you need more detail

hey... i went to those forums and i tried the first... didnt work, tried the second option...it says this.. and i didnt change anything
SteamAppId 215 // This will mount all the GCFs we need (240=CS:S, 220=HL2).
and when i tried to launch the game... it did the same thing like before
it launched, then it didnt even go to the main menu, just a few flashes then an error pop-ed up and said this
"Engine Error"
"Could not load library client"
