When it comes to gaming of course.

Personally, I like Nintendo. I have been with them since I was 5 years old playing the original gold cartidge NES game. I'm a fanboy but I can admit they screw things up.

Everyday at school I hear kids talking about the graphics on the 360 or PS3. I mention the DS and they jump on me with the usualy "Nintendo - Shit Graphics" garbage which pisses me off. No offense to 360 or PS3 fans (I actually like Halo, the original anyway) But a lot of hardcore fans need to get one thing straight. Nintendo does not go for graohics. Any company can spend a billion dollars to make a bunch of objects in a game shine and look realistic. Nintendo goes for interactivity. Nintendo is like the weird kid at school who tries to be different and suceeds very well. While people sit on their ass playing the same game but with better graphics Nintendo fans are really playing the game with the Wimote. Nintendo goes for innovative. Such as the DS. I got Phantom Hourglass for it and absolutely love it and it reminds me why I love Nintendo.

I came to a point where it told me to blow out a candle. I was stuck for a second, I tried to attack it but quickly realized "Hey, this is Nintendo, this is a DS...which has a mic!" so I blew onto my DS and the candle flame vanished...really cool in my opinion. There was also a part where I needed a symbol on a wall on ym map and drawing it wouldn't cut it. You have to "Stamp" it on your map...how? The symbol you want is on the top screen, your map is on the bottom screen. So you close your DS, open it up and voila! Really reminds me of why I like Nintendo.

That's just my opinion. I like graphics, and admit Nintendo cannot stop beating a dead series (Personally, I think Mario is dead ever since Mario Galaxy but the Zelda series can go on forever) over and over again. Like I said, I can admit it when they do something silly.

I'm not really a console/handheld gamer, and I'm not even a heavy player on the TF2 side of eGO, but I felt compelled to back you up here. I, too, love the innovation that Nintendo brings to the table year after year. With every console (excluding the GameCube) that Nintendo has sold, it has brought innovation that the competition can't match. Be it the console or the games that the console has, Nintendo is #1 in my book. I'm an owner of a Wii and it's the best console that I've ever had, hands down. I'm not even bored of Wii Sports yet.

If you think that Nintendo is falling or isn't keeping up, [link=http://www.fudzilla.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=5950&Itemid=39]think again[/link].

Well i have personally always have favored Nintendo just because of their characters and creativity. But that isn't to say my Wii couldn't use a nice xbox 360 right next to it though. ^^

Back in the early part of the decade, around 2001-2002, there was some backlash in the gaming industry against the tendency towards overly ultra-real graphics in video games. Gamers were slowly discovering that it was more important for a game to be fun to play than for it to look ultra-real.

Nintendo is, as far as I'm aware, the only console maker that paid attention to that. The Gamecube was a step in that direction, as they made some choices for price and portability that were drastically different than the current generation of consoles, but it wasn't enough. (Take a look at the bottom of the Gamecube, and you can see that Nintendo was planning a lot more for their console, but didn't get there. Modem port, USB port, network jack ...)

The Wii, originally code-named "Nintendo Revolution," has been just that. It's a gaming revolution, and I'm so pleased to see it. While Microsoft and Sony continue to produce what are, essentially, poorly-designed PCs in console cases (much like the never-produced Phantom Game Console), Nintendo understands that a console is supposed to be a finely-tuned and dedicated gaming machine.

By the way, if you want to understand the power of Nintendo, consider that characters like Mario, Link, and Pikachu has as much brand recognition now as Mickey Mouse.

Lastly, there's a fascinating book I read some years ago, and plan to read again, called [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Game-Over-Press-Start-Continue/dp/0966961706/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1204900724&sr=1-2"]Game Over Press Start To Continue: David Sheff, Andy Eddy: 9780966961706: Amazon.com: Books@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51PRY624B3L.@@AMEPARAM@@51PRY624B3L[/ame] that talks about how Nintendo became the company they are today. It's a must-read for the well-informed gamer.
