Hello Clashers, let's talk Clan Wars.

With the new ability of opting in / opting out, I have received a bunch of requests for us to start doing Clan Wars much more frequently (2 or 3 times a week). This will also allow us to bring back some more of our more casual members to join our clan and simply opt out of wars.

If you want to join our clan, search =(eGO)= on the Clan Search. Be sure to let us know who you are by posting your eGO forum name in the join request.

Learn how to opt in or out of war by watching this video

I would love to join your clan, but I'm with my friends clan at the moment.

I love war, got like 435 war stars haha

Bumping this thread to formulate a better plan for our Clan Wars. Give your thoughts on what we should do to improve our war performance.

My thoughts:
Only elders/co-leaders/leaders manage war donations. No one else should donate troops unless permitted by one of those individuals.

Your first attack must be equal to your current ranking on the clan board.

Your second attack must be used to attack someone within 3 ranks higher, or one rank lower than your own.

Players in the top 10 of the war should wait till the end of the war for their second attack to ensure any extra available stars are easily received. (IE: Someone sub10 received 0/0 on an easy base)

You're going to have to add more co-leaders/elders if this is your plan.

Currently there are 1 elder, 2 co-leaders and 1 leader.

We would probably kick all members out and start fresh with only those who want to do war.

I love the wars but hate we lose so many. Burns up elixir attacking and building dragons only to lose.

That's why we want to make some big changes. I don't want to waste my resources either, I want to start winning lol.

I can do wars but I have been staying out of them b.c my phone is bad. I don't want it to close out of CoC in the middle of a battle.

This is going to work well only for the players in the middle of the war list and suck pretty bad for the bottom and top of it.

I also don't understand why we are doing this now, after the option to opt out has been implemented. If you wanted to do a pure clan with only players who will always opt in then this could've been done weeks ago. The idea to make a separate clan for wars was brought up couple weeks back and I believe you shot it down yourself at the time. Why the change of heart?

Multiple clans was the original proposal, but i can see how it may be hard to manage 2 clans (unless of course you have 2 devices and 2 different accounts, like i do, i have another clan just incase. Always have plan B haha. xD)

But yeah, i like legends current proposal for controlling donations. Its a good ideas as war castle donations don't affect your stats anyway. So might as well let stronger players donate the troops for war.

As for the option of opting in and out: the problem is me and legend have been running into a problem where we have to opt in or opt people out in order to start the war. The reason is because you can only start war with 15 or 20 members (on average we are currently getting 16-18 people).

So for now we can try the controlled donations and if it does not work then maybe go to the last resort and clean up all the leechers and people who never participate in war and just do war all the time.

I like war 24/7 But i travel a lot and sometimes miss wars so now i have the option to opt out, so it can be handy sometimes.

Another idea that could work is opting out the bottom 5 players from war, this will not only concentrate stronger players for war, but also gives an incentive to lower lvl player who want to fight to level up and stay active instead of dropping trophies to farm/sleep.

Well this is how my clan does it:

The member with the highest level troops should be donating in your war clan castle. It would be your co-leaders and elders usually.

First Attack: First Attack should be used on a base close to your rank dropping to far below can hurt other members and overall results. We don't go more than 2 under your rank.

Second Attack: Second attack is used for clean up and fail attacks to help the war effort.

We are quite doing well with this strategy.

Good luck with the new change..

I agree so much on this. I don't want a bunch of level 3 wizards in my clan castle for war, the TH8s + would lose stars because of it. I'd rather have max level ( Or close to max level ) troops being donated. That's one way were going to win wars.

We should also consider adding Momma, eternal and sam to the elder list. They have maxed out TH 8 troops for the most part, and they have the highest donation to received ratio.
