So, has anyone started getting the "your computer is interfering with VAC" error?

Yeah, what do? I've been given a 24hr cooldown because of it.

stop hacking

Security program may block it, doubt it though
I would just verify integrity of game cache and try again.

I checked it several times against the software list. I use MalwareBytes and Avira, neither of which are known to interfere. The problem is I can't test other things because it would give me another cooldown.

I use to get it, restarting my computer was a band aid fix and then eventually I uninstalled all my virus protection disabled firewalls, still done it so whilst they were all gone I re installed steam and then it hasn't happened ever since, however this isn't really a direct fix it just seemed to work for me up to you if you wish to try it or not.

UPDATE: Now I've been given a 7 day cooldown for these VAC authentication errors. I hate Valve, why do they punish me for their crap software?

What is the exact error message it is giving you?

The exact two error messages are the UI ones, which say "Something in your computer is interfering with VAC. You cannot play on secure servers" or something to that effect. The other one, appearing simultaneously and in console, is a "VAC Authentication error". I'm assuming these two errors are the same, but I had never thought to check the console beforehand.

Have you attempted to re-install steam? Have you tried playing on another steam account to see if it is affiliated with your steam account instead of your PC?

I don't have any other Steam accounts that have CS:GO, and this only happens in GO. It doesn't happen in other VAC protected games, like TF2 or CS:S.

Someone told me Skype can cause problems, so I'm gonna close it when my 7 day ban is over and test it again.

Enfohip is gonna let me test it with another account of his.

Skype has a master overlay(which just means when it's called, it's registered priority is important, so you see it above all windows) that may interfere with the newer VAC authentication. When someone calls you and you're doing something else, you get a big picture with all the info.

Take this for instance:

I've had this same problem, but I've never been banned for it. It kept constantly kicking me out of the servers until I turned off Skype.

This was on an old PC. When I built my new PC, I didn't have this interference problem anymore when I ran Skype while playing CS:GO. The fact that it's fixed to CS:GO might hint something, as this was right around the time of CS:GO initial launch.

This isn't really a solution as much as it is for hope. I'm not sure why you're having those issues exactly, but if you continue to have issues in CS:GO after your cool off, please message me and I'll spend time investigating.

I have my Skype usually set to Do Not Disturb, so nothing should pop up. I'll keep it open during a game while testing Enfohip's other account, and have someone call me on it during a game. If that's the case, I can wait out the initial hour cooldown and test it again with Skype closed entirely. That's my experiment.

I used to use Avira but I stopped using it because it just loved blocking any access that are incoming to my computer. It literally blocks everything, in a bad way. I went back to Avast
