Hello All, Just thought I would share some possibly problematic news. IGN is saying DICE has confirmed there will be no server browser for Battlefront. That it will be skills based matchmaking only. This would seem to preclude dedicated private servers. If this is the case I will not be buying it until they add it. I only play these games as part of a community like eGO. Can someone here with a contact talk to DICE and confirm this is for PC also?

Yeah, that's a HUGE blow to communities if they do not support dedicated servers.

Yikes... I wouldn't be surprised to see them change their minds either shortly before or shortly after launch. Get enough big names in gaming to post poor reviews and they'll change their minds.

At first, I could say that this is a good thing but it kind of destroyed it if they are basing it on match-making. Hopefully they won't make the mistake they did with BF and require internet for the campaign and if that happens. I definitely won't be getting Battlefront.

From what I know there won't be a single player campaign.

oh dang it, is it too late for a refund on the preorder? maybe they'll fix it, plenty of time...

Was planning on getting it. If it doesn't have dedicated servers though forget it.

was really looking forward to this until i heard this news. I really wish ea/dice would stay more in touch with its player base.

I think we will have to wait and see how it goes for servers. Many times the communities group up and players provide input to DICE to determine how much support there will be for dedicated servers. Many times it has been easier to have consoles as non-dedicated servers and play match maker. PC however has been the debate point and usually needs a dedicated server system. Dont give your hopes up yet for PC we usually just have to wait a while to see what the decision is for server support
